Kesler - Stanley
TABOR CITY — Megan Gail Stanley and James Griffin Kesler exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 6 at 4 p.m. at Tabor City Baptist Church, with Dr. David Lee Coleman officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Clyde Franklin Stanley Jr. and the late Donna Smith Stanley of Tabor City and the granddaughter of the late Clyde Franklin Stanley Sr. and Annie Mercer Stanley of Tabor City and Marjorie Mauney Smith and the late Sherwood Bruce Smith Sr. of Rocky Mount.
She graduated from South Columbus High School in 1999 and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. She is employed as a commercial real estate broker at United Franchise Group.
The groom is the son of William Thomas and Louise Griffin Kesler of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Robert Cicero and Elizabeth Anne Kesler of Greensboro and the late Burges Urquhart and Mary Lee Gardner Griffin of Lewiston.
He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1997, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Master of Accounting degree. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He is employed as chief financial officer at Greensboro Baseball LLC.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
She wore an ecru silk satin ball gown with a shallow swooping neckline. The bodice tier draped into a cascading satin tie beneath the gown’s plunging back line trimmed in antique lace. Nineteenth century whalebone buttons held the Isabella-length train into a bustle.
Her headpiece was a handmade veil of silk tulle trimmed in antique lace.
The bride carried a bouquet of white phal, open roses, freesia, peonies and sweet peas hand-tied in satin ribbon adorned with pearls.
Kelly Brooke Graham of Raleigh was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Carrie Evelyn Bell of Greensboro, Caroline Smith Elliott of Loris, S.C., Holly Susanne Hill and Melissa Kay Sullivan of Raleigh, Meredith Jones Lay of Tabor City and Anna Jones Townsend of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
William Thomas Kesler was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Timothy Allen Baker of Wilmington, Andrew Alden Crain of Goldsboro, William Thomas Kesler Jr. of Raleigh, Wesley Brandon Peele and Mauney Clyde Stanley of Charlotte and William Darius Smith of Greenville.
Ushers were Mitchell Tucker Brown of Elizabeth City, William Sherrod Brown III of Raleigh, Joseph George Ward of Durham and Adam Keith Weaver of Goldsboro.
Miona Fonvielle directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Faith Wright and Jalyn Stanley. Hope Wright and Charity Wright distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jim Smith, pianist; and Anne Jernigan and Matt Jernigan, vocalists; Linda Jordan, organist; and Allyson Carrington, harpist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Surf Golf and Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple reside in Greensboro.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the Avista Resort in North Myrtle Beach.
