Jones - Harris
NORLINA — Heather Michelle Harris and Charles Scott Jones of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Michael Hobbs officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Carroll Erskine and Rebecca Richardson Harris of Macon and the granddaughter of the late Charles Anthony and Edna Mustian Harris of Macon and the late Lewis Gill Richardson Sr. and Dorothy Twisdale Richardson of Norlina.
She is a 1994 graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Vance-Granville Community College. She is employed as a registered nurse at Maria Parham Hospital.
The groom is the son of Latha Seymour Jones and the late James Allen Jones Jr. of Mount Olive and the grandson of the late James Jones Sr. and Nora Jones of Mount Olive and the late Albert and Vonnie Seymour of Goldsboro.
He is a 1988 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and attended Mount Olive College. He is employed as a truck driver at Performance Food Group, Virginia Foods.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a gown of ivory chiffon with an asymmetrical waist highlighted by a Swarovski crystal brooch.
Her headpiece was a single-layer angel wing veil of silk chiffon held in place by Swarovski crystal combs.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of blue hydrangeas and white sweetheart roses.
Amber Taylor Harris was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Ashley Kaye Bryan, high school roommate of the bride; Lindsey Holloman Blackwell, niece of the groom; Tiffanie Stainback Chase, Melinda Carol Weaver and Melissa Balmer Walthall, friends of the bride; Katrina Johnson Harris, sister-in-law of the bride; Kelly Alease Holliday, niece of the groom; and Brittani Renae Lynch, cousin of the bride.
Michael Brent Williams was his friend’s best man.
Groomsmen were Blake Andrew Blackwell, nephew of the groom; Joseph Carroll Harris, brother of the bride; Robert Allen Jones, brother of the groom; James Daniel Richardson and Jonathan Lewis Richardson, cousins of the bride; and Scott Thompson, friend of the groom.
Matthew Bryan Lynch, cousin of the bride, was the usher.
Isley Lauren Richardson and Taylor Davis Richardson, cousins of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.
Chelsea Elizabeth Sommer and Madelyn Leigh Richardson, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. Christopher Logan Chase, godson of the bride, was ringbearer.
Anne Ayscue Harris, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Dannette Danielle Edwards, friend of the bride. Alma Holtzman Lynch, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by the Rev. Betty Willis, pianist, and Ashley Kaye Bryan, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held at Henderson Convention Center. Mr. and Mrs. Christopher R. Ayscue greeted guests. Jennifer Richardson Sommer, aunt of the bride, and Mary Lou Cheek Burroughs, cousin of the bride, served the wedding cake.
After a wedding cruise to the southern Caribbean, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 6 at the home of Wanda Richardson of Oxford hosted by Mrs. Richardson, Carol Twisdale Green and Heather Raynor Richardson; a shower May 21 at Middleburg Steak House hosted by Melinda Carol Weaver and Melissa Balmer Walthall; a miscellaneous shower April 20 at Zion United Methodist Church hosted by friends and family of the bride; and a miscellaneous shower April 12 at the home of Barbara Jones Holloman of Mount Olive hosted by Mrs. Holloman, Nancy Jones Rea, Beverly Jones Holliday, Lindsey Holloman Blackwell and Kelly Alease Holliday.
The groom and his family hosted a rehearsal dinner June 6 at Zion United Methodist Church.
