MOUNT OLIVE — Summer Kristen Price and Michael Grady Williams exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 31 at 5:30 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents, with the Rev. Sherman Guthrie officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Durwood Mckinley and Barbara Herring Price and the late Beneshia Sullivan Price of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of the late Durwood M. and Minnie Grady Price of Seven Springs and Gay Hussey and the late William G. Sullivan of Mount Olive.
She is employed as lead teacher at Rhyme University.
The groom is the son of Emma Louise Grady Williams and the late Rev. William Franklin Williams Jr. of Mount Olive and the grandson of the late William Franklin Williams Sr. and Vivian Carr Williams of Goldsboro and the late William Henry and Gladys Carter Grady of Seven Springs.
He is employed as a service tech at D.M. Price and Sons.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family.
She wore a white formal A-line wedding gown.
Her headpiece was a veil with sequins.
The bride carried a bouquet of lavender and yellow flowers.
Meredith Price Cox was matron of honor, while Stephanie Williams was maid of honor.
Larry Williams was the best man.
Sterling J.C. Price was the groomsman.
Peggy Laws directed the wedding, presided at the register and distributed programs.
Special helpers were Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Simmons Cooker
A program of wedding music was provided by Barbara Price, pianist, and Al Laws, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception dinner was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
After a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple reside in Mount Olive.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal luncheon May 25 at the Country Squire in Warsaw hosted by Gay H. Sullivan, grandmother of the bride, Brenda S. Cherry, aunt of the bride, and Sannie D. Dean, aunt of the bride; a bridal shower May 18 at Walker Memorial hosted by family and friends of the couple; and a bridal shower May 4 at Zion Church hosted by friends and family of the couple.
