Kelly Ann Newcomb and Allen Dent McCullough of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 17 at 3 p.m. at Waynesborough Historical Village, with the Rev. Greg Vale officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Eddie and Kay Newcomb of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Bruce and Joan Newcomb of Pikeville and Alvin and Barbara Taylor of Goldsboro.

She is a 2006 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2007 graduate of Miller Motte Technical College with a degree in massage therapy. She is employed as a med tech/SIC at Countryside Assisted Living.

The groom is the son of the late Joy McCullough and James and Carole McCullough of Middleburg, Fla., and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Gray of Jacksonville, Fla.

He is employed as a salesperson at Builders Discount Center.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white strapless moderate sweetheart neckline matte satin A-line gown with re-embroidered Alencon lace and a band of pink satin accenting the natural waistline. The back featured satin-covered buttons that flowed into a semi cathedral-length train embellished with a pink satin apron split insert finished with matching lace appliqués and a scalloped hemline.

Her headpiece was a pearl and rhinestone tiara with a separate fingertip-length veil sprinkled with rhinestones.

The bride carried a cascading bouquet of pale pink roses and tulips accented with fern and banana leaves.

Lindsay McNally was her friend’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Abbey Fielder and Tiffany McCullough, sisters of the groom, and Stephanie Lindsay, friend of the bride.

Jim McCullough was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Tom McCullough, uncle of the groom; Doug Benefield and Doug Langlois, friends of the groom; and Geoff McCullough, brother of the groom.

Becky Sykes, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.

Ushers were Jeremy Worrell, friend of the couple, and Drew Sykes, cousin of the bride.

Jordan Lindsey, friend of the bride, was flower girl. J.J. Rhimberg, friend of the bride, was ringbearer.

Jessica Hall, cousin of the bride, was the miniature bride. Aiden McCullough, son of the groom, was the miniature groom.

Donna Worthington directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Tina Sykes and Julie Hall, aunts of the bride. Tiffany Sykes, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

Emalie Hudson was a special helper.

A program of wedding music was provided by Tara Boyette and Larry Hudson, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Hatch House at Waynesborough Historical Village.

After a wedding trip to the North Carolina and Georgia mountains, the couple resides in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower April 5 hosted by Tina Sykes, aunt of the bride, and Barbara Taylor and Joan Newcomb, grandmothers of the bride and a lingerie shower March 29 hosted by Julie Hall, aunt of the bride.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Steak Barn. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
