Anderson - Haswell
April Lynn Haswell of Grantham and Stephen McCrae Anderson II of Grantham exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 24 at 3 p.m. at Goldsboro Worship Center, with the Rev. Donnie Anderson, uncle of the groom, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Deborah Sue Herndon of Graham and the late Robert Lynn Herndon of Zebulon and the granddaughter of Clyde and Shinako Belongia of Dudley, Glenn and Edith Marie Thornton of Burgaw and Earl Herndon of Virginia.
She graduated from Wayne Community College’s nursing program in 2006. She is employed as a registered nurse at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
The groom is the son of Stephen McCrae Anderson of Charlotte and Cindy Creech of Faison, the stepson of J.W. Creech of Faison and James Sutton of Grantham and the grandson of the late Tarence and Dorothy Anderson and Mary Rivenbark of Goldsboro and the late Vance Perry of Wilmington.
He graduated from Wayne Community College’s basic law enforcement training 2005. He is employed as a police officer with Princeton and Pine Level police departments.
The bride was escorted by the groom and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory satin strapless princess A-line gown with Victorian lilac trim accented with embroidery, sequins, crystal and pearl beading. It had a lace-up back bodice in Victorian lilac and asemi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a crystal and pearl tiara with a fingertip veil with crystal accents.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet of assorted flowers in ivory, pinks and purples.
Bridesmaids were Mackenzie Lynn Haswell, daughter of the bride, and Destiny Brooke Creech, daughter of the groom.
Seth McCrae Anderson was his father’s best man.
Morgan Brianne Haswell, daughter of the bride, and Karinne Blake Anderson, daughter of the groom, were flower girls. Seth McCrae Anderson, son of the groom, was ringbearer.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Grantham.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower May 22 hosted by co-workers of the bride and a bachelor Party May 15.
