Davis - Jones
Pikeville — Christy Lee Jones and Daniel Lee Davis of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 29 at 3 p.m. at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Doug Johnson and the Rev. Don Sauls officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dennis Wayne and Sue Lee Jones of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Alice D. Lee of Goldsboro, the late Craven Earl Lee and the late Willard and Melba S. Jones.
She is a 2001 honor graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2007 graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in elementary education. She is a member of Kapp Delta Phi Fraternity. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher at Brogden Primary School.
The groom is the son of Diane Edmundson Davis of Pikeville and Freddy Davis of Raleigh and the grandson of Patti Edmundson of Pikeville, the late William “Bill” Edmundson and the late James and Marie Davis.
He is a 2000 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and attends Edgecombe Community College for a respiratory therapy degree. He is employed as a medical equipment technician at Wayne Pharmacy.
The bride was escorted by her father and brother and presented in marriage by her family.
She wore a white satin strapless A-line gown with silver beading on the bodice, skirt and train. The split back flowed into a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a rhinestone and pearl comb attached to an elbow-length veil scattered with pearls and rhinestones.
The bride carried a bouquet of ivory, pink and purple ranunculus tied with white satin ribbon.
Stacie Bailey and Tina Smith were their friend’s matrons of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Dupree, cousin of the bride, and Christie Frederick of Panama City, Fla., friend of the bride.
Chris Davis was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were Dennis W. Jones Jr., brother of the bride, and Jamie Lancaster and Jason Musgrave, friends of the groom.
Madison Bailey and Addison Smith, friends of the couple, and Olivia Dupree, cousin of the bride, were miniature flower girls.
Graysen and Lexi Jeffreys, friends of the couple, were flower girls. Turner Lewis, friend of the couple, was ringbearer.
A program of wedding music was provided by Camille Frederick, pianist; James Sauls and Kasi Smith, vocalists; and Jeff Martin, sound technician.
Cathy Pijanowski directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Tiffany Holland and Joy Ingram, friends of the couple. Melissa Adkins and Laura Kinney, cousins of the groom, distributed programs.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Elmer and Marie Britt, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests. Reception helpers were Annie Laura Casey, Janice Hill, Bethany and Laura Jones and Leona Leneave. Tiffany Arnette and Brandy Jones, cousins of the bride, poured punch. Carolyn Clark and Diane Jones, aunts of the bride, cut wedding cake. Marilyn Kinney and Faye Pridgen, aunts of the groom, cut the groom’s cake. Kaleah Kinney, Destiny Pridgen, Lexi Edmundson and Leslie Wade, cousins of the groom, and Tyler Arnette and Myrissa Delisi, cousins of the bride, distributed bubbles.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon March 27 at the home of Marie Britt, aunt of the bride; a lingerie shower March 22 at the home of the couple hosted by Diane Jones and Carolyn Clark, aunts of the bride; a miscellaneous shower March 13 at Brogden Primary School hosted by the kindergarten staff; a stock-the-shed shower March 8 at the home of Jane Jeffreys hosted by Ms. Jeffreys, Lee Meacham and Hope and Adam Montague; a girls’ night out March 7 hosted by Tricia Sullivan and Amy Clark; a shower Feb. 29 hosted by Kim Thomas’ second grade class at Northwest Elementary; a bachelor weekend Feb. 22 through 24 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a miscellaneous shower Feb. 16 at Pikeville Pentecostal Church hosted by Marilyn Kinney, Faye Pridgen and Bett Jernigan, aunts of the couple; a miscellaneous shower Jan. 20 at Jefferson United Methodist Church hosted by the church’s Friendship Circle; and a bridal shower Dec. 10 at the home of the bride’s parents, hosted by Stacie Bailey and Tina Smith.
The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at Jefferson United Methodist Church.
