Howell - Dawson
Amber Nicole Dawson of Seven Springs and Jason Gene Howell exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at St. John’s Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Stevens officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ronnie Lee Dawson of Goldsboro and Sue Price of Seven Springs, the stepdaughter of Tracy Price of Seven Springs and the granddaughter of Catherine Dawson and the late Lee Ashton Dawson Jr. of Goldsboro and Arnold and Lou Smith and Mrs. and Mrs. Marion Barwick of Seven Springs.
She graduated form Spring Creek High School in 2003 and Wayne Community College with a certification in phlebotomy. She is employed as a phlebotomist/health care tech at Cherry Hospital.
The groom is the son of Gene Howell and Vickie Lancaster of Pikeville and the grandson of the late Llyod and Doris Howell and the late Emmett and Patsy Scott of Pikeville.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock. He is employed as assistant manager at The Dollar Tree in Smithfield.
The bride was escorted by her father and stepfather and given in marriage by her family.
She wore an ivory strapless A-Line gown with beaded lace details and a long sleeve lace jacket with a chapel train.
Her headpiece was a silver tiara lined with diamonds.
Shayna Denham was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Lorena Howell, sister in law of the groom, and Misti Howell, sister of the groom.
Gene Howell was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jonathan Howell, brother of the groom, and Rex Price, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Jonathan Howell, brother of the groom, and Rex Price, brother of the bride.
Ashtyn Dawson, daughter of the bride, was flower girl. Jack Britt, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Debra Alphin and Judy Howell, aunts of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kimberli Alphin, cousin of the bride. Jordyn Howell and Elizabeth Price, nieces of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Sherry Price, aunt of the bride, pianist, and Andrew Alphin, cousin of the bride, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Pikeville.
Events held before the wedding include a miscellaneous shower Nov. 18 at Zion Community Building in Pricetown hosted by family and friends.
A rehearsal was held in the church fellowship hall. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
