Barwick - Thompson
DUDLEY — Brooke Elizabeth Thompson and Carl Wesley Barwick exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at Brodgen United Methodist Church, with Pastor Shirley Acker Ward officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Lloyd Carl and Vickie Radford Thompson of Dudley and the granddaughter of Patsy Thompson, the late Lloyd Thompson and the late Ted and Dora Mae Radford of Dudley.
She is a 2000 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2005 graduate of Johnston Community College with a paralegal degree. She is employed as a paralegal with Wayne County Clerk of Court.
The groom is the son of Carl Benjamin Barwick and Lisa Ward Barwick of Goldsboro and the grandson of Jo Melton of Goldsboro, the late Benjamin Barwick of Creedmoor and the late Douglas and Katherine Ward of Marion, Ala.
He is a 2001 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2004 graduate of Wayne Community College with a welding degree. He is employed as a welder with Harris Steel.
The bride was escorted by her father and son, Seth Thompson, and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white satin crepe A-line gown with a V-neck front and back accented with pearls .
She carried a single pink rose.
Karla Thompson Fry was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Ashley Nicole Barwick and Lacey Michelle Barwick, sisters of the groom.
Carl Benjamin Barwick was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Bill Harrell and Danny Edwards, friends of the couple.
Ushers were Bob Hunter, Tommy Baker and Ronnie Whaley, members of Mar Mac Volunteer Fire Department honor guard.
Rachael Taryn Wall, friend of the bride, was flower girl.
Carolyn Cox, friend of the bride’s family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Stephanie McPhail, friend of the bride. Kelsey Holloman and Tricia Ingram distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jimmy Barnhill, pianist; Kelly Wall, vocalist; and Kenny Brown and Jim Musick, sound technicians.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Special helpers were Frankye Watson, Jackye Cushing, Laura Daughtry, Mary Jo Wiggins and Carolyn Lewis. Wesley and Barbara Dills presented the wedding cake decorated in fall colors.
After a wedding trip to Emerald Isle, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bachelorette weekend Nov. 10 and 11 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by friends of the bride; a bachelor party Nov. 9 hosted by friends of the groom; and a miscellaneous shower Sept. 23 at Brodgen United Methodist Church hosted by friends and family of the couple.
The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner Nov. 17 at Brodgen United Methodist Church.
