Stevens - Cox
PRINCETON — Alicia Lynne Cox and Bradley Wayne Stevens exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. at Whitley Church, with the Rev. Jason Sherman and the Rev. Andy Stovall officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Donnie and Janice Cooke of Goldsboro and Leonard and Carol Cox of Four Oaks and the granddaughter of Lester Cox and the late Nona Rene Cox of Four Oaks, Harold and Ruth Edwards of Princeton and the late Hazel Overbee of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Rosewood High School in 2001 and Appalachian State University in 2005 with a degree in mathematics education. She is employed as a high school math teacher at South Johnston High School.
The groom is the son of Jerry and Joyce Stevens of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Woodrow and Mary Stevens of Grantham and Mavis Grice and the late Arthur Grice of Micro.
He graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2000 and Wayne Community College in 2004 with a degree in forestry. He is employed as a tree improvement orchard manager at Claridge State Nursery.
The bride was escorted by her father and stepfather and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a satin halter A-line gown with a split front accented by beaded lace with a lace-up back and chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a crystal tiara with rhinestone flowers and a fingertip veil with a beaded scalloped edge.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of miniature white calla lilies, white and pink roses and stephanotis accented with pearls.
Kristy Brantham of High Point was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Erika Best of Greenville, Ashley Dixon of Goldsboro, Becky Little of Mocksville, Jennifer Raimo of Raleigh and Abby Cockman of Greensboro, friends of the bride.
Jerry Stevens was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Chris Dail of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Mark Stevens of Raleigh, brothers of the groom, and Maulin Patel, Travis Hollowell and Brandon Tucker of Goldsboro, friends of the groom.
Ushers were David Radford and Joseph Capps of Goldsboro, friends of the groom.
Caitlyn Dail, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Cody and Caden Dail, nephews of the groom, were ringbearers.
Brenda Herring, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Carolyn Jernigan, cousin of the groom. Patrick and Peyton Overbee, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.
Greeters were Rex and Pam Lipscomb and Dennis and Pam Stewart.
A program of wedding music was provided by Betty Grantham, friend of the bride, pianist, and the Rev. Andy Stovall, Lauren Grantham and David Wiley, friends of the bride, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family held a reception in Rosewood Baptist Church’s Braswell Hall.
After a wedding cruise to Key West and Calica, the couple reside in Bentonville.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon Nov. 17 at Whitley Church hosted by family of the bride; a lingerie shower Oct. 27 hosted by friends of the bride; a miscellaneous shower Oct. 14 at Whitley Church hosted by friends and family of the bride; and a miscellaneous shower Oct. 13 at Blackjack Original Free Will Baptist Church hosted by the groom’s family.
The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner Nov. 16 at Whitley Church.
