Millard - Abel
Heather L. Abel of Dudley and Rob O. Millard Jr. of Dudley exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, with Ralph Ginn officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ken and Debbie Abel of Goldsboro and Audrey Jones and the late Ray Jones of Dudley and the granddaughter of Julia Abel, the late Milo V. Abel and the late Henry and Alleen Henson of Goldsboro.
She attended Southern Wayne High School. She is employed as a customer service representative at Future Financial Services.
The groom is the son of Robert “Buddy” Millard Sr. and Diane Millard of Dudley and Rose Hinton of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late David and Margaret Millard of Goldsboro and Virginia Strickland and the late Joe Strickland of Kinston.
He attended Lenior County Schools. He is employed as a manager at Advance Auto.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a sleeveless white gown with a chapel train and a drop waist embellished with scalloped beads and pearls.
Her headpiece was a single-layered veil with a rhinestone and pearl tiara.
Kristin Haddow was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jessica Hoskin and Nikki Burroughs, friends of the bride, and Kari McCallister, cousin of the bride.
Ronnie Ginn was best man.
Groomsmen were Robert “Buddy” Millard Sr., father of the groom; K.L. Abel, brother of the bride; and Danny O. Tinsley, friend of the groom.
Brittany Powell, niece of the bride, and Brittany McCallister, cousin of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.
Ushers were Dan Weatherington, friend of the couple, and Jeff Haddow, brother-in-law of the bride.
Patti Henson, cousin of the bride, and Lauren Haddow, niece of the bride, were flower girls. Kenny Millard, son of the couple, was ringbearer.
Sharon Greene, sister of the groom, directed the wedding.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held. Rachel Ginn was the server. Amy Bonifas served the wedding cake.
The couple reside in Dudley.
The couple’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Oct. 19 at the church.
