Grady - Strickland
PRINCETON — Pamela Lynn Strickland of Goldsboro and Bennie Bruce Grady Jr. of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. at the home of Gary and Bonnie Rhodes, with Justin Thomas officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Renee and Alan Rhodes of Princeton and John and Jackie Strickland Jr. of Seven Springs and the granddaughter of John Strickland and Janice Strickland of Goldsboro and Joe and Kathlene Capps of Princeton.
She graduated from Princeton High School in 1997 and is employed at Talecris Biotherapeutics.
The groom is the son of Bennie Bruce Grady of Pink Hill and Carol Taylor Grady of Kinston and the grandson of James and Grace Taylor of Kinston.
He graduated from South Lenoir High School in 1993. He is employed with the State of North Carolina.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a mermaid style gown of pearl luxe taffeta featuring a strapless neckline embellished with a silvery band of iridescent sequins, beads and seed pearls. The pleated torso flowed to a T-length front and a sweep train in the back was adorned with covered buttons from top to bottom. The bride carried a bouquet of pink and off-white roses.
Jessica Lee, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor, while Kevin Grady, brother of the groom, served as best man.
Ushers were Joey Harris and Brian Kornegay, brothers of the bride.
Michelle Smith directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Ashley and Alaina Hester. Amanda Strickland distributed programs. Bonnie Rhodes and Stephanie Hough were special helpers.
After the ceremony, a lighted outdoor reception was held featuring music by Afterdark DJ Entertainment.
After a wedding trip to Las Vegas, the couple reside in the Rosewood community.
Events held before the wedding included a rehearsal dinner at Logan’s on Oct. 5; a shower given by the bride’s coworkers on Sept. 28 in Clayton; and a lingerie shower given by Jessica Lee, matron of honor, and Shannon Booth, a friend of the bride, on Sept. 30 at the home of the bride.
