Miller - Chasten
Shari Lorene Chasten and Keith Orlando Miller exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 7 at 3:37 p.m. at First Congregational Church, with the Rev. Antonia Lawrence officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mary B. Chasten and the late Atmos C. Chasten of Mount Olive.
She is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education. She is pursuing a second degree. She is employed as a More At Four Teacher at Carver WAGES.
The groom is the son of Annette K. Miller of Kenansville and Joseph G. Miller of Hamlet.
He is a graduate of James Kenan High School. He is employed as an agricultural manager at Louise Howard Industries of Kenansville.
The bride was escorted by her brother, Benjamin A. Chasten of Dudley, and given in marriage by her family.
She wore an ivory satin haltered gown encrusted with sequins, beads and crystals with an ivory chapel train. It was accented with triangular-shaped diamond earrings and a necklace for a Biblical theme of three for the Trinity and seven for completion.
Her headpiece was an ivory double-layered tulle veil with a pencil edge attached to a sterling silver tiara embellished with pearls and crystals.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of ivory short-stemmed roses hand-wrapped with ivory satin ribbon and pearls.
Teressa Bobette Fields of Goldsboro was her sister’s matron of honor, while Joshulyn Johnson of Mount Olive, daughter of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Georgianna Chasten of Dudley, sister-in-law of the bride, and Princess Raines of Kenansville, cousin of the groom.
Phillip King of Dudley was his cousin’s best man.
Groomsmen were Breyon Johnson of Mount Olive, son of the bride; Carl Chasten of Douglasville, Ga., brother of the bride; and Benjamin T. Chasten of Charlotte, nephew of the bride.
Chloe Fields of Goldsboro and Carlae’ Chasten of Douglasville, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. Shondee Fryar of Turkey, friend of the couple, was ringbearer.
Jordan Houston of Mount Olive, cousin of the groom, was Bible bearer.
Sonya Chasten of Douglasville, sister-in-law of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Washandra Oliver of Goldsboro, Madie Bell of LaGrange and Carol Coley of Dudley, friends of the couple.
Hostesses were Velma Maddox of Turkey, Beverly Houston and Peggy Cartwright of Dudley and Shannon Farrior of Kenansville.
A program of wedding music was provided by the Rev. Jerry Dortch and Pamela Dudley, pianist and vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
Events held before the wedding included a dinner July 1.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner July 6 at Faith Presbyterian Church.
