Whitfield - Brown
Ashley Nicole Brown of Goldsboro and Charles Jacob Whitfield of Durham exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 26 at 6 p.m. at Unity Fellowship, with Pastor Kelvin Gurley officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jimmy Brown of Grantham and Rose Brown of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Charles Brown of Grantham, Ernestine Hardee of Pikeville and Sandra Powell of Goldsboro.
She is a 2006 graduate of Rosewood High School and attends Meredith College.
The groom is the son of Charles Whitfield of Raleigh and Diane Whitfield of Durham.
He is a 2003 graduate of Jordan High School. He is employed at Triangle Jiu-Jitsu Academy of Durham.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Jessica Hartley, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Noah Overton, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Brenda Sittig, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Candace Powell, cousin of the bride.
A reception was held Saturday at the Steak Barn.
After a wedding trip to Wrightsville Beach, the couple reside in Durham.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower June 3 at Unity Fellowship hosted by family and friends.
