Gardner - Winders
Natalie Brock Winders and Justin Carlo Gardner of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 9 at 4 p.m. at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with Dr. Fred Clifford officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Randy Brock Winders Sr. and Wanda Mozingo Winders of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Rosalee Brock Winders and the late William Hilton Winders Sr. of Goldsboro and Rachel Jackson Mozingo and the late LLoyd Hilton Mozingo of Pikeville.
She is a 2003 graduate of Wayne Christian School and a 2006 graduate of Wayne Community College with an Associate in Applied Science degree in dental hygiene. She will be employed as a registered dental hygienist with Hinnant and Hinnant DDS PA.
The groom is the son of Aaron “Carlo” and Sherry Gardner of Pikeville and Brooks and Lynn Byrd Owens of Wilson and the grandson of James Edward and Dorothy Thorn Gardner of Pikeville and Dallas Stevens and Jean Byrd and the late Christine Kilpatrick Byrd of Mount Olive.
He is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School, a 2003 graduate of Wayne Community College with a diploma in welding technology and a 2004 graduate of Sampson Community College with an Associate in Applied Science degree in welding technology. He attends Wayne Community College for an Associate in Applied Science degree in industrial systems technology. He is employed as a maintenance technician at Electrolux in Kinston.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a a white matte satin strapless mermaid gown with a scalloped chapel-length train. It had a white lace overlay with pearls and Swarovski crystal beading throughout.
Her headpiece was a tiara of Swarovski crystals and pearls with elbow-length veil enhanced with matching Swarovski crystals and pearls.
The bride carried a tied bouquet of white roses, stock and pink hypericum berries.
Jeannine Winders Williams was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Chelsey Mozingo of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jessica Winders, cousins of the bride; Christy Gardner, sister of the groom; and Bethany Anderson of Raleigh, friend of the bride.
Carlo Gardner was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Brock Winders, brother of the bride; Derek Hill of Wilmington, cousin of the groom; and Chris Ginn and Frazier Sanders, friends of the groom.
Alanya Odom, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Jackson Taylor of Lynchburg, Va., cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Hope Ham, aunt of the bride, and Jennifer Parks, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Ashley Suggs, friend of the bride. Graham Price, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Bradley Collier, cousin of the bride, pianist, and Christy Unroe of Roanoke, Va., cousin of the bride, and Susan Brock and Tyron Corbett, cousins of the groom, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church. Renee Mozingo of Myrtle Beach, aunt of the bride, and Megan Barnes of Roanoke, cousin of the bride, cut the wedding cake. Kim Kornegay of Mount Olive and Terry Anderson of Pikeville, aunts of the groom, poured punch.
After a wedding trip to Occidental Grand Xcaret of Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple reside in Pikeville.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower May 27 at the home of Dallas and Jean Byrd, grandparents of the groom hosted by the groom’s grandmother and mother; a bridal shower May 20 at Free Chapel Church hosted by the family of the groom’s father; a bridal shower April 29 at the home of Hilton and Arlene Winders hosted by the bride’s family; and a bachelorette and lingerie party April 28 in Raleigh hosted by Michelle Odom and Jennifer Parks, cousins of the bride.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner June 8 at Free Chapel Church.
