PINEHURST — Jennifer Niccole James of Baltimore, Md., and Kenneth Patrick Terry of Baltimore exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 12 at 6 p.m. at The Village Chapel, with Larry Ellis officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Webster Adams and Celia Wooten James of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late George Manning and Gertrude Fawcett James of Ponce Inlet, Fla., and John David and Mary Nell Wooten of Holly Hill, Fla.
She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1994, Elon University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000 with a master’s degree in healthcare administration. She is employed as the clinical administrator for obstetrics and gynecology at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
The groom is the son of Thomas James Terry Jr. and Joan Marie Terry of Berlin, Md.
He attended Quincy College where he played soccer and Rutgers. He served in the Army infantry. He completed nursing school at the University of Maryland. He is employed as a critical care nurse at the University of Maryland Medical Systems.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a ivory strapless A-line gown with French lace adorning the bodice and the bottom of the gown and train.
She wore a pearl headpiece and fingertip-length veil.
The bride carried a bouquet of white lilies.
Jennifer Hamblen Valdivia was matron of honor, while Julie Christine Owen was maid of honor.
Thomas James Terry III was best man.
Stephen Francis Terry was the groomsman.
Ushers were Stephen James, brother of the bride, and Frank Trenery, friend of the groom.
Gabriella Martha Valdivia was flower girl. Grant Thomas Owen-McNair was ringbearer.
John Shannon directed the wedding. Shannon Clerkin, Angela Carter and Cresta Pollard distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by John Shannon, organist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Donald Ross Grill at Pinehurst Resort clubhouse.
After a wedding trip to Cook Islands and New Zealand, the couple reside in Baltimore.
Events held before the wedding included a shower in Baltimore hosted by co-workers of the bride; a shower at Meadow Lane Elementary School hosted by staff; a shower in Baltimore hosted by Jennifer Valdivia, friend of the bride; and a shower in Daytona Beach, Fla., hosted by Julie Owen, cousin of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was held May 11 at Fairwoods on Seven at Pinehurst Resort.
