Serlo - Kennedy
Brittney Nichole Kennedy and Robert John Serlo exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 14 at 6 p.m. at Ivory Gardens Chapel, with the Rev. David Grave officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Bob and Hope Kennedy of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Douglas and Lois Pender and the late Mary Ann Weatherford and Elwood Kennedy.
She is a 2004 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She is employed with Fowler Production in Norman, Okla.
The groom is the son of Tom and Tina Serlo of Norman and the grandson of Ron Meikle of Norman and Mr. and Mrs. Bill McKee of Michigan.
He graduated from Norman High School in 2001. He is employed with E.L.S. in Oklahoma.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal A-line gown of white chiffon over satin. The bodice was embellished with appliqués of Venise lace with Swarovski crystals and pearl beading accents that continued the entire length of the chapel train.
Her headpiece was a Swarovski crystal tiara with a two- tiered elbow-length veil with tear drop pearls and satin trim.
The bride carried a bouquet of periwinkle blue hydrangeas and white roses.
Daneille Bookout was her friend’s maid of honor.
Matthew Serlo was his brother’s best man.
Austin Douglas Kennedy, brother of the bride, was the junior groomsman.
A program of wedding music was provided by Bob Kennedy, father of the bride, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held at the Red River Banquet Room in Norman.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower April 12 at Fowler Productions hosted by co-workers of the bride.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner April 13 at their home.
