Davis - Vaughn
PIKEVILLE — Kiscegdia Shinika Vaughn and James A. Davis Jr. of Dudley exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 14 at 3 p.m. at Elm Grove Church of Christ, with Pastors Kenneth and Edna Vaughn officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Vaughn of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Prince Parson of Goldsboro, Mary Grantham and the late Henry Grantham.
She is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. She is employed as a shift supervisor at CVS Pharmacy.
The groom is the son of James A. Davis Sr. and Alice S. Davis of Goldsboro and the grandson of Mary Best.
He graduated from Goldsboro High School. He is employed as a machine operator with Georgia Pacific.
The bride was escorted by her brother, Kentrell Vaughn, and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white A-line gown of peau de soie with metallic embroidery that flowed from the waist with cascading crystal. The top had illusion tank top straps covered with metallic floral embroidery. The fitted bodice had corset styling covered with metallic embroidery embellished with clear sequins and bugle beads. The peplum back had a detachable cathedral train with metallic embroidery and a floral motif.
Her headpiece was a crystal diamond tiara.
Fatima Middleton of Raleigh was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Waltrye Daniels, Joey Nichols, Richelle Howell, Tasha Howard and Mentoria Elam of Goldsboro and Camiko Collins of Charlotte.
Octavius Sanders was his cousin’s best man.
Ushers were Donnie Chatman, Rodney Core, Jamie Howard and Maurice Hines, cousins of the groom.
Cynthia Bryant of Goldsboro, friend of the bride; Sebrena Wooten of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride; ad Angela Harris and Katina Artis of Atlanta, Ga., cousins of the bride, were honorary bridesmaids.
Khayla Davis, daughter of the groom, was the miniature bride. Marquel Vaughn, son of the bride, was the miniature groom.
Shanecia Bright, cousin of the bride, and Heavenly Edwards, cousin of the groom, were flower girls.
Prophetess Terri Evans of Jonesboro, Ga., directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Cynthia Bryant and Sebrena Wooten. Katina Artis and Angela Harris distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Roderick Stevenson and band, pianists, and the Vocal Ensemble.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church dining hall.
After a wedding trip to Kissimmee, Fla., the couple reside in Dudley.
Events held before the wedding included a breakfast April 14 at Lane Tree Golf Course hosted by Patricia Mickens, aunt of the bride; a dinner March 31 at Applebee’s; and a bridal shower March 24 at Elm Grove Church hosted by Fatima Middleton, friend of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was held April 13 at Elm Grove Church.
