Price - Blake
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Cheryl Lyn Blake of Tallahasee and Matthew Lane Price of Tallahassee exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 8 at 4 p.m. at Maclay Gardens, with Bill Williams officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Linda Cooper and John Phillip Blake of Zebulon and the granddaughter of Sophia Cooper of Crystal River, Fla., the late Joseph cooper and the late Richard and Alice Blake of Ansonia, Conn.
She is a graduate of East Wake High School, Appa-lachian State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Master of Arts degree in English. She attends Florida State Uni-versity at Tallahassee for a Ph.D. in literature. She is employed at Florida State University.
The groom is the son of Diane Duke and David William Price of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Matthew Thomas and Nolie Harper Duke of Goldsboro, Janet Clements Price of Morganton and the late Woodrow Wilson Price of Spindale.
He graduated from Southern Wayne High School, East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Master of Arts degree in English. He attends Florida State Uni-versity for a Ph.D. in literature. He is employed at Florida State University.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Melissa Nicole Blake was her sister’s maid of honor.
David Price was his son’s best man.
Heather Duke Price of Atlanta, Ga., was the reader.
A program of wedding music was provided by a violinist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Chez Pierre of Tallahassee.
Events held before the wedding included a luncheon March 2 hosted by co-workers of the bride.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner March 7 at Andrew 228.
