Stroud - Barrow
SNOW HILL — Crystal Denise Barrow of LaGrange and Terry Glenn Stroud exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 7 at 3:30 p.m. at Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Reynolds Smith officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dennis Barrow of Raleigh and Cathy Smith of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Jeannette Smith and the late William Smith of LaGrange and Iola Barrow and the late James Barrow of Goldsboro.
She is a 2000 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2002 graduate of Johnston Community College. She is employed as a medical technician with Neuse Correctional Center.
The groom is the son of Hank and Darlene Stroud of Princeton and the grandson of Dave and Lib Lassiter of Princeton and the late Needham and Lucy Stroud of Snow Hill.
He graduated from Rosewood High School in 1998. He is owner of Stroud’s Acoustics.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory A-line gown of satin with an organza overlay. The strapless neckline featured an inset V design encrusted with silver beading. The gathered asymmetrical waistline was adorned with silver beading, sequins, seed pearls and bugle beads. The gown closed with a lace-up back and flowed into a semi-cathedral train with a satin band and silver beading.
Her headpiece was a silver beaded headband with Swarovski crystals and baguettes with an ivory two-tiered silk illusion veil with pencil trim.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of white miniature callas, Virginia roses, stephanotis and blue hydrangea wrapped in ivory sheer ribbon.
Ashley Smith was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Tracy Jackson of LaGrange, sister of the bride; Shelia Nord, sister of the groom; and Melissa Smith, friend of the bride.
Hank Stroud was his son’s best man.
Ushers were Jerry Stroud of Seven Springs, brother of the groom; Dave Lassiter of Princeton, uncle of the groom; and Brian Hester of Princeton, cousin of the groom.
Lauren Nord, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Juston Jackson, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
Debbie Moore and Elaine Saucier directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Laura and Keith Worley. Jordon Jackson distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Sharon Barrow of Snow Hill, pianist, and Doug and Celina Smith of LaGrange and Barbara Smith of Snow Hill, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception dance at the Steak Barn. Kenny and Pam Minshew and Glen and Barbara Barnes greeted guests. Sam Gray and Amy Smith served the three-tiered wedding cake.
After a wedding cruise to Jamaica, Costa Maya and Grand Cayman, the couple will reside in Princeton.
Co-workers will hold a party May 4 and the bride’s family will hold a shower May 5 at Free Gospel Church.
Events held before the wedding included a bachelor party March 31 in Raleigh; a tool party March 24 hosted by Hank Stroud, Jerry Stroud and Curtis Nord; a lingerie shower March 24 hosted by Darlene Stroud, Shelia Nord, Ashley Smith and Brandy Jones; and a shower March 18 at Lane Tree Country Club hosted by the groom’s family.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the home of David Lassiter. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
