Howell - Meadows
MCGAHEYSVILLE, Va. — Tanya Beth Meadows and Joshua Braxton Howell of Elkton, Va., exchanged vows in a double-Bible ceremony Dec. 30 at 6 p.m. at Landmark Tabernacle, with the Rev. L. Keith Powers and the Rev. Ronnie Lynch officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Terry Edward and Tammy Pittman Meadows of Elkton and the granddaughter of Lester Leroy and Shirley Temple Meadows and the late Rev. James Harding and Mary Elizabeth Pittman of Elkton.
She a 1999 graduate of Victory Baptist Christian Academy of Harrisonburg, Va. She is employed as a secretary and teacher’s assistant at Victory Baptist Christian Academy.
The groom is the son of the Rev. Sherwood Maxton and Lori Ann Smith Howell of Goldsboro, the grandson of E. Max and Hazel Howell and Rebecca Ann King of Goldsboro and William Preston Smith of Asheville and the great-grandson of Ellen Mae Sutton Smith.
He a 1999 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2002 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in computer networking. He is employed as a network technician at Rockingham Group of Harrisonbur.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a a white strapless satin A-line gown with a long-sleeved lace jacket with beaded details. The dress featured a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a teardrop veil with scalloped beaded edge attached to a silver scroll tiara accented with rhinestones, crystals and pearls.
The bride carried a bouquet of red and white roses.
Sarah Lynch of Hagerstown, Md. was, her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Melissa Whorton of Russellville, Ark., Paige Powers of Keezletown, Va., and Amber Cullers of Rixeyville, Va., friends of the bride.
Danny Flick, of Rolesville was his friend’s best man.
Groomsmen were Ryan Powers of Keezletown and Bradley Helfrick of Greencastle, Pa., friends of the couple, and Trent Meadows of Elkton, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Jordan Howell of Goldsboro, brother of the groom, and Kaleb Trail of Flintsone, Md., friend of the couple.
Naomi Fulcher of Williamsport, Md. was flower girl. Dillon Whorton of Russellville was Bible bearer.
Stacey Helfrick of Greencastle directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Sky Dean of Elkton.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jessica Webster of Tahlequah, Okla., pianist and vocalist, and and Emily Lynch and Sarah Lynch of Hagerstown, Kristy Fletcher of Martinsburg, W. Va., and Nathan Markee of Strasburg, Va., vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. A five-tiered cascading cake was served.
After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple reside in Elkton.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower Dec. 1 at Faith Temple Church of Hagerstown.
A rehearsal dinner was held Dec. 29 at Ciro’s Italian Restaurant in Elkton.
