Pendergraph - Grantham
Heather Michelle Grantham and Matthew Norman Pendergraph exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with the Rev. E.C. Mattocks officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Michael Allen and Donna Parnell Grantham of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Mary Grantham, the late Rudy Grantham and Donald and Mildred Parnell of Goldsboro.
She is a 2002 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and a graduate of Wayne Community College. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom is the son of Norman L. and Joan Ogburn Pendergraph of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Troy and Ruth Pendergraph and the late Lloyd Jr. and Elsie Ogburn of Garner.
He graduated from Rosewood High School in 1996 and Wilson Technical Community College. He is employed as a firefighter with Goldsboro Fire Department and is owner of Pro Cut Lawn Service.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white satin gown enhanced with a sweetheart neckline and gauntlet sleeves. The fitted bodice of Alencon lace was accented with clusters of seed pearls. The Basque waistline led to a flowing skirt with a scalloped edge that swept to a cathedral-length train.
Her tiara was accented with crystals and pearls with a fingertip veil.
The bride carried a bouquet of red and white roses.
Lynne Grantham was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Cindy Pendergraph, sister-in-law of the groom, and Jamie Weeks and JoAnn Smith, friends of the bride.
Norman Pendergraph was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Chris Pendergraph, brother of the groom, and James Farfour and Harold Isler, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Brantley Holland, cousin of the bride, and David Grice, Ricky Barnes and Adam Lockhart, friends of the groom.
Caroline Pendergraph, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Collin Pendergraph, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.
Pam Grantham, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Ronnie and Debbie Philips. Meredith Grantham and Rachel Grantham, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.
Taylor Grantham, cousin of the bride, and Cameron Pendergraph, cousin of the groom, were acolytes.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jason Tew and Hillary Smith, friends of the couple, pianists, and Josh Lane, friend of the couple, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a dinner and dance reception at the church family life center. Wayne and Coneva Watkins, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests.
Events held before the wedding included a pantry shower and luau hosted by Donald and Mildred Parnell, grandparents of the bride; a miscellaneous shower and cookout hosted by the Pendergraph family; a miscellaneous shower at Rosewood Baptist Church hosted by family and friends of the bride; a Tupperware shower and bachelorette party hosted by Lynne Grantham; and a handyman shower and bachelor party hosted by friends of the groom.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner.
