Gray - Exum
KEY WEST, Fla. — Tasha Jamell Exum and Hilton Corey Gray of Alexandria, Va., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. at The Heritage House Gardens, with Michael Vernon officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Timothy Darryl Exum of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Arona Yvonne Exum of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Carnell and Laura Forte Exum of Stantonsburg, James Lee of Goldsboro and the late Patricia Joyner Elliott of Fremont.
She is a 2001 graduate of Goldsboro High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in United States history. She is employed as an administrative assistant at Northrop Grumman.
The groom is the son of Herbert Gray Sr. and Charlotte Ada Gray of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Willie Gray Sr. and Eliza Wooten Gray of Seven Springs and the late John Paul and Dorothy Gilbert Jones of Elizabeth, N.J.
He is a 1999 graduate of Goldsboro High School and a 2003 graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer sciences and a Bachelor of Arts degree in management. He is employed as a senior consultant at Aptify.
The bride was escorted by her grandfather, James Elliott, and given in marriage by her mother.
She wore a strapless floor-length gown of ivory chiffon. The bodice was embellished with beading and crystals. The asymmetrical waistline gathered at the side and flowed out into a semi-cathedral-length train.
Her headpiece was a two-tiered veil of silk illusion with a ribbon edge attached to a tiara accented with crystals.
The bride carried a mixed bouquet of pink oriental lilies and roses accented with white iris.
Adrain Jones was her sister’s maid of honor.
Herbert Gray III was his uncle’s best man.
Stevie Joyner, uncle of the bride, was the usher.
Tabu Whitfield, niece of the couple, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Matthew McCoy, brother of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held, followed by a dinner reception aboard a cruise ship. Sherry Joyner and Brenda Mills, aunts of the bride, and Clara Whitfield, sister of the groom, assisted during the reception.
After a wedding trip to Italy, the couple reside in Alexandria.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower Oct. 31 hosted by co-workers of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was held Nov. 6 aboard a cruise ship.
