Barber - Johnson
Mary Ida Johnson and Larry James Barber exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 10 at 5 p.m. at Goldsboro Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Al Thompson officiating.
The bride is the daughter of the late Preston Edward Johnson and Ida Mae Johnson.
She is employed at Elite Fashions.
The groom is the son of Jasper and Mary Barber.
He is employed at Cherry Hospital.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her uncle, Al Johnson, with the permission of her mother.
She wore a long ivory dress with a beaded and pleated satin leaf design on the bodice.
She carried a bouquet of pink and ivory roses in a silver vase.
Donna Mozingo was maid of honor.
Shane Ricketts was best man.
Ushers were Derek Stricklen, Paul Hayes, Kyle Riddle, Josh Magnus and T.J. Highsmith. Ken Carver was head usher.
Casey and Zoe Shearin were flower girls.
Kim Bogue directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Stacey Riddle and Miranda Hill.
Readers were T.J. Highsmith and Miranda Hill.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jillian Sanders, pianist and violinist; and Richard Phillips, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, friends and family held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Evelyn Johnson, Chris Etheridge, Jessica Carver, Emily Austin, Bobbie Riddle and Kim Bogue were servers.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Rosewood.
Events held before the wedding included a surprise dinner and shower at a local restaurant hosted by co-workers of the bride and a shower at the home of Cindy and Benny Johnson.
