Zell - Barton
GREENVILLE — Victoria Dawn Barton and Alan Lee Zell Jr. of Greenville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with Father Justin Kerber officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John Robert Barton Jr. of Albertson and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wright Parker of Seven Springs and the granddaughter of Lila Price, the late John Robert Barton, George Washington Price and the late Robert and Dorothy Jackson of Albertson.
She is a graduate of East Duplin High School in Beulaville and the College of Education at East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a minor in psychology. She is employed as a program manager at Carolina Support Services Inc.
The groom is the son of Alan Lee and Phuc Thi “Lynn” Zell of Jacksonville and the grandson of Lonnie of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Lenora Zell of Tuscan, Ariz., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen of Vietnam.
He graduated from Jacksonville High School and the College of Business at East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business management with a concentration in management. He is employed as a store manager at American Eagle Outfitters.
The bride was escorted by her stepfather and given in marriage by her family.
She wore a strapless mermaid-style silk faille taffeta gown with shirred hip details and a low back.
Her fingertip-length veil was edged with Chantilly lace. She also wore vintage-style chandelier earrings encrusted with pearls and Swarovski crystals.
The bride carried a hand cluster of ivory vandella roses, green pom poms, red hypericums and leaf of ruscus with flame calla lilies with stems covered with silk faille taffeta from the gown.
Suzanne Barton Taylor was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Amanda Smith Albertson, Erin Quinn Heath and Stacie Lynn Hill.
Alan Lee Zell was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Mark Steven Curnow Jr., James Robert Lien and Donald Milam.
John Robert Barton Jr. was the usher.
Joseph Jackson Parker was the junior groomsman.
Mariah Shantel Zell was the junior bridesmaid.
Sydney Grace Spruill was flower girl. Zachary Nguyen Rudow was ringbearer.
Karen Albertson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Yolande Thi Charles.
A program of wedding music was provided by Michael Vetrano, pianist and vocalist, and Amanda Albertson, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Brook Valley Country Club. Alice Jones and Ashlea Jones were helpers. Randy Albertson, Lisa and Tim Blizzard, Larry and Mary Henslee and Pat and Janice McConiga greeted guests.
After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple reside in Greenville.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ brunch Oct. 21 hosted by Karen Albertson and Amanda Albertson; a weekend of entertainment in Charleston, S.C., hosted by Amanda Albertson, Lindsay Fisher, Erin Heath, Stacie Hill and Suzanne Taylor; a miscellaneous bridal shower Aug. 13 hosted by family and friends; and a lawn and garden couples shower July 15 hosted by Clay and Suzanne Taylor, Eric and Michelle Money, Erin Heath and Stacie Hill.
A rehearsal dinner was held at St. Peter’s Church Parish Hall.
