Vernon - Lanier
ROSEWOOD — Lori Ann Lanier and Jeffrey Vernon exchanged wedding vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 19 at 3 p.m. at Pine Forest Methodist Church, with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating.
The bride is the daughter of James and Linda McCumber of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Dorothy Wheeler of Wallace.
She is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and East Carolina University with a BSN degree. She is employed as a registered nurse in the electro physiology lab at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
The groom is the son of Jimmy and Judy Vernon of Rosewood and the grandson of Wilbert and Ruby Vernon and Katherine Tarlton.
He graduated from Rosewood High School. He attended East Carolina University. He is employed with Myco Supply Co. Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a full-length A-line taffeta gown with a fitted bodice adorned with pearl lace, spaghetti straps and a full-length train.
Janet Stallings served as her friend’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Donna Cook, Melanie Martin and Vickie Waters, friends of the bride, and Cindi Lanier and Meg Lanier, sisters-in-law of the bride.
Jimmy Vernon was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Scott Brady, friend of the groom; Jason Vernon, brother of the groom; and Ray Lanier, Todd Lanier and Michael Lanier, brothers of the bride.
Sydney Lanier, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Conner and Gabe Vernon, sons of the groom, were ringbearers.
Rick Faucett, friend of the couple, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Sandra Young, friend of the bride. Gail Denton, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Country Club.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple reside in Rosewood.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower at the home of the groom’s parents hosted by the couple’s family and friends, and a bridal shower in Greenville hosted by Janet Stallings and Vickie Waters.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Aug. 18 at the Steak Barn.
