Elizabeth Danielle Womble and James Douglas Casey II exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ira Williford officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Sammy and Lavonne Womble of Pikeville and the granddaughter of the late Clayton and Alma Herring of Goldsboro and Frank Womble and the late Ethel Womble of Grantham.

She is a 2006 graduate of Wayne Community College’s dental assistant program.

The groom is the son of James “Jimmy” and Leann Casey of Lucama and Cecil and Janice Casey of Pikeville and the grandson of the late Ralph and Doris Lancaster of Fremont and the late James and Elizabeth Casey of Pikeville.

The groom is employed at National Welders as a filler.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white formal gown of royal satin with a scoop neckline accented with beaded straps. The princess bodice was embellished with Austrian crystal and bugle beaded and silver embroidery that flowed into an A-line skirt. The back bodice closed with beading and cascaded into a semi-cathedral beaded train.

Her veil was attached to a tiara with rhinestones and crystals.

Azure Smith served as her friend’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Marsha Peele of Pikeville and Jodie Scott of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.

James Casey was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Brian Womble, brother of the bride, and Daniel Peele, friend of the groom.

Kaitlyn Smith, niece of the groom, and Kristin Casey, daughter of the couple, were flower girls.

Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Casey Campbell and Rachel Bridgers, nieces of the groom.

A program of wedding music was provided by Georgia Cuddingham and Josh Parnell, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. April Taylor, friend of the bride, poured punch. Holly Underhill, friend of the bride, cut the wedding cake.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower July 1 at Mt. Carmel Church hosted by the groom’s mother and Renee Campbell, sister of the groom.

The bride’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Aug. 12 at McCall’s Barbecue and Seafood.
