Strickland - Tripplett
Brandi Renee Tripplett became the bride of Christopher Bret Strickland Saturday, June 3, at 6:30 p.m.
The Rev. Rick Ward officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Walnut Creek Country Club.
Parents of the bride are Johnny Franklin Tripplett and Vickie Phipps Tripplett of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Nadine Harrell Crumpler and the late Noah Ham Phipps of Goldsboro and Mary Hart Tripplett and the late Frank Luther Tripplett of Snow Hill.
Parents of the groom are Robert Wyatt Strickland and Alma Sutton Strickland of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Marjorie Wilson Sutton and Charlie Carl Sutton of LaGrange and Sallie Herring Strickland and the late Charles Brantley Strickland of Goldsboro.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of Alencon lace over tulle with a square neckline accented with spaghetti straps. The fitted bodice was embellished with a satin waistband adorned with a candy box bow. The A-line skirt was enhanced with a scalloped hem. The back closed with bridal buttons and cascaded into a semi-cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of rhinestones that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion adorned with scattered crystals with a pencil edge. She carried a clutch-style bouquet of green hydrangeas with Oceana and pink Anna roses in a circular style accented with variegated pitt wrapped and tied with white chiffon ribbon.
Charissa Lynn Pollock of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were April Strickland Aycock, sister of the groom; Misty Aleisha Nassef of Carolina Beach and Kayla Ashley Harrell of Fountain, cousins of the bride; and McKenzie Herring Lee of Pikeville, Melissa Raye Radford, Leslie Smith Hunter and Carla Futrell Tino of Goldsboro and Wendy Smith Hair of LaGrange, friends of the bride.
Robert Wyatt Strickland was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Robert Charles Strickland of Goldsboro, brother of the groom; Lester Paul Aycock of Goldsboro, brother-in-law of the groom; David Allen Pollock of Goldsboro, brother-in-law of the bride; Scott Sutton Hardy of LaGrange, cousin of the groom; and Phillip Walker Moye of Wilmington, David Dwight Johnson of Greensboro, Henry Francis Labrecque III of Clayton and Troy Michael Smothers of Goldsboro, friends of the groom. Ushers were David Morrison Underwood and Chadwick Brian Barnes of Goldsboro, Ronald Jeffrey Prince of LaGrange and Michael Keith Smith and John Jacob Dail III of Charlotte, friends of the groom.
Honorary bridesmaids were Mallory Elizabeth Strickland, Abbey Nicole Strickland, Madison Laurie Aycock, Alexandra Hope Strickland and Brooklyn Alexis Pollock, nieces of the couple.
Honorary groomsmen were Evan Paul Aycock, Aubrey Franklin Pollock and Logan Alexander Pollock, nephews of the couple.
Catherine Elaine Triplet of Goldsboro, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Stacie Lynn Vaughan of Goldsboro, friend of the bride. Joy Stone Ingram of Pikeville, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
Ladelle Strickland Smothers of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was the reader.
Wanda Davis Strickland of Goldsboro, sister-in-law of the groom, and Veronica Luna Davis of Goldsboro, friend of the couple, were personal assistants to the couple.
A program of wedding music was provided by Bobbi Ann Crawford of Goldsboro, pianist and vocalist; Ronald Crawford of Goldsboro, vocalist; and Paige Vickory Barwick of Mount Olive, violinist.
After a wedding trip to St. Kitts and Nevis, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Greene Central High School and a 2000 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She is employed as assistant sales manager with Park Designs.
The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1992 and Campbell University in 1997 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He is employed as a senior vice president of marketing with Atlantic Casualty Insurance Co.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception and dance at Walnut Creek Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson, family friends of the groom, greeted guests. Any Nicole Carter of Dudley, friend o the bride, served the wedding cake. Tonya Rodriguez of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, presided at the gift table. Catherine Elaine Triplet was director.
On June 2, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Walnut Creek Country Club. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
Friends and sister of the bride held a lingerie shower May 20 at the home of Jerry and McKenzie Lee.
On May 13, April Aycock, sister of the groom, and Marianna Tillman, aunt of the groom, held a bridal brunch at the home of Paul and April Aycock. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.
Co-workers of the bride held a shower May 11 at Park Designs.
May 5 through 7, friends of the bride held a girls’ weekend in Wilmington.
Friends of the groom held a bachelor party weekend May 4 through 7 in Key West, Fla.
April 28 through 30, friends of the bride held a bachelorette party weekend in Key West.
On April 23, friends and family of the groom held a miscellaneous bridal shower at Saulston United Methodist Church.
Relative of the bride held a miscellaneous bridal shower April 1 at the home of the bride.
On March 18, friends of the couple held an around-the-clock couple’s shower at the home of Scott and Wendy Hair.
Friends of the groom’s family held a party March 11 at the Steak Barn.
