Smith - Harper
SNOW HILL — Candace Brooke Harper and Andreas Jerome Smith were married April 22 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Larry Turlington officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Fort Run Church.
The bride is the daughter of John Harold and Jean Hart Harper of Snow Hill. She is the granddaughter of Bettie Arthur Hart and the late J.B. Hart Jr. and the late Albert Lyman and Lillie Mae Harper of Snow Hill.
Robbie and Anna Marie Smith of Snow Hill are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Carl Friedrich and Anna Marie Hoepf of Germany and Edna Smith Moody and the late Rudolph Smith of Snow Hill.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin and chiffon A-line gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The bodice was adorned with Swarovski crystals and silver flower embroidery and flowed into a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a silver tiara with rhinestones and a three-tiered veil adorned with Swarovski crystals along the edges. She carried a cascading bouqeut of white and lavender Japanese orchids and cherry blossoms and a butterfly.
Leigh Ann Taylor, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Smith, friend of the bride, and April Wilson, Ashley Arnette and Brittney Wilson, cousins of the bride.
Joshua Smith was his twin brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Devin Bigler and Jim Wiggins, friends of the groom; Eddie Brown, friend of the couple; and Brandon Harper, brother of the bride.
Paige Chase and Cianna Wilson, cousins of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.
Destiney Wilson, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Aubrey Pollock, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Peggy Chase, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Melissa Conley, friend of the bride. Mandy Smith, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Lynn Turlington, organist, and Steve Hart, uncle of the bride, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing in Snow Hill.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Greene Central High School. She attended Wayne Community College. She is employed with Raper Drug as a pharmacy technician.
The groom graduated from Greene Central High School in 2000. He is employed with Smith Electric.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall.
On April 1, Leigh Ann Taylor, Patricia Taylor and Sherry Arnette held a lingerie shower at the Arnette home.
The bride’s family held a bridal shower March 25 at Fort Run Church fellowship hall.
On Jan. 22, Elizabeth Smith, friend of the bride, held a bachelorette party at her home.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Shine Fire Department.
