Howell - Perkins
Jennifer Lynn Perkins of Wilmington became the bride of Eric Jackson Howell of Wilmington April 22.
Glenn Phillips Jr. officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Baptist Church.
Berkeley Clay and Clarkie Smith Perkins of Goldsboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Catherine Smith Smith, the late Ralph Harris Smith Sr. and the late Jesse Berkeley and Barbara Davis Perkins of Goldsboro.
Robert Jackson Jr. and Beverly Sasser Howell of Goldsboro are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Rachel Rhodes Sasser, the late Linwood Albert Sasser, Thelma Cotton Howell and the late Robert Jackson Howell Sr. of Goldsboro.
Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a candlelight gown with a strapless neckline. The fitted bodice was embellished with pearls, bugle beads and sequins accented with an asymmetrical waistline. The back bodice closed with satin-covered bridal buttons. The full skirt was beaded at the hemline and cascaded into a cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered veil of silk illusion edged with Austrian crystals and bugle beads. She carried a clutch bouquet of colored Gerber daisies, Amazon pink roses and a cluster of red hypericum.
Jessy Ann Perkins was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Jo Barbee, Stephanie Banks, Hayley Garris and Kristin Parker.
Robert Jackson Howell Jr. was best man. Ushers and groomsmen were Brian Howell, Steve Sasser, Chris Hopper and Johnny McFatter.
Courtney Howell was the junior bridesmaid.
Beverly Meyer was flower girl. Cody Howell was ring bearer.
Elsie Hooke and Betty Sasser directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Courtney Smith. Majena Howell and Carolyn Barbee distributed programs.
Laura Glasson was Scripture reader.
A program of wedding music was provided by Bill Hayes, organist, and Hayley Garris, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Wilmington.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a management concentration. She is a homemaker.
The groom graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2001 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration with concentrations in management and marketing. He is employed as a field service representative with the Hillman Group.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Goldsboro Country Club.
On April 21, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at United in Christ Church.
The bride’s mother and grandmother held a bridesmaids’ luncheon April 21 at Billie’s Restaurant.
On March 19, cousins, aunt and special friends of the bride held a bridal tea at First Baptist Church parlor.
Jo Ann, Amy Jo and Carolyn Barbee held a linen shower March 11.
On March 4, Steve and Betty Sasser held a party at the Elk’s Lodge.
Paul, Connie, Kristin and Paula Parker and Rob Woodard held a couple’s shower at Wilber’s Barbecue.
