Parham - Lane
Jennifer Rae Lane and Billy Joe Parham of Columbus, Ohio, exchanged promises April 8 at 3 p.m.
Dr. Glenn Phillips Jr. officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are Ray Harold Jr. and Deborah C. Lane of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Virginia Cole, the late Oza F. Cole Jr., Tina Lane and the late Ray Harold Lane Sr. of Goldsboro.
Larry and Penny Henson of Columbus and Gary Parham of Asheboro are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Jean Housand, Thurman Housand and Terry and Irene Parham of Asheboro.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal white gown of tulle and satin adorned with Alencon lace with a portrait neckline. The fitted bodice was enhanced with an asymmetrical waistline embellished with pearls and sequins. The back bodice closed with pearl bridal buttons accented with a sheer back enhanced with lace. The A-line tulle over satin skirt was beaded at the hemline with Alencon lace and pearls that cascaded into a cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a rhinestone comb accented with pearls enhanced with a single-tiered veil of silk illusion adorned with scattered rhinestones with a penciled edge. She carried a nosegay of fresh flowers.
Virginia Mayo was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Killette, Krystal Epps and Maricel Wujek, friends of the bride.
Joe Ostrom was best man. Groomsmen were Larry Henson; Stephen Lane, brother of the bride; and Shannon Housand, uncle of the groom.
Elsie Hooks directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Eula Parham and George Mayo IV.
A program of wedding music was provided by Carol Gray, organist, and Dave Parsons, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Las Vegas, Nev.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Goldsboro High School. She attended East Carolina University. She is employed in the receiving department of Excell Home Fashions, Glenoit.
The groom graduated from Marion Franklin High School of Ohio in 1998. He is serving in the Air Force.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Elsie Hooks fellowship hall. Linda Sellers and Brenda Williams poured punch. Faye Ward and Brenda DeShong served the wedding cake. Al Cole and Dr. and Mrs. George Mayo III greeted guests.
On April 1, Becky Mayo held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at her home.
Leigh Sutton and Shelby Bizzell held a brunch March 18 at the home of Doug and Leigh Sutton.
On Feb. 19, ladies of First Baptist Church held a bridal shower.
