Kristina Lynn Kelley became the bride of Jay Faison Joyner III Saturday, March 25, at 6 p.m.
The Rev. Dr. L. Gregory Jones and the Rev. Susan Pendleton Jones officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Saint Paul United Methodist Church.
Jim Bruce Kelley and Marie Pistorius Kelley of Mount Olive are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Neil Edgar Pistorius of Decatur, Ill., the late Helen Mary Wetz Pistorius and the late V.A. Kelley and Alice Bowman Kelley of Vandalia, Ill., and the step-granddaughter of Eleanor Kemmerer Pistorius of Decatur.
J. Faison Joyner Jr. and Wanda Faircloth Joyner of Mount Olive are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Jarvie and Vera Faircloth of Roseboro and the late J. Faison Joyner Sr. and Gladys Chestnutt Joyner of Mount Olive.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory couture strapless gown with a chapel length-train. The bodice embroidery featured crystals and rhinestones. The dropped-waist ball-gown skirt was tufted and accented with rhinestone pickups.
For her headpiece, she chose a single-tiered finger-tip veil trimmed in satin and accented with scattered crystals. She carried a clutch-style bouquet of white Virginia, peach Oceana and pink Anna roses accented with miniature calla lilies finished with loops of bear grass greenery and bound with an ivory satin ribbon.
Erin Marie Kelley of Chapel Hill, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Christina Ann Berkau and Lauren Abigail Hege of Charlotte, Mary Lambert Clingan of Winston-Salem, Roxie Carisma Kemmerlin of Goldsboro, Kelly Diana Parker of Chapel Hill and Katherine Horne Pope of Clinton, friends of the bride.
J. Faison Joyner Jr. was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Chad Everett Joyner of Mount Olive, brother of the groom, and Wesley Mack Barefoot and Jethrey James Odom of Faison, Donald Sprunt Hill Jr. of Chapel Hill, Bradley McMillan Rivenbark of Rose Hill and James Roy Worley Jr. of Goldsboro, friends of the groom.
Sarah Pendleton Jones of Chapel Hill, friend of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Alexander Bradley DeMarco of Topsail Island, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.
Judy Hunt Gourley of Goldsboro directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Jim and Diane Kelley Thompson of Chicago, Ill., uncle and aunt of the bride. Kevin and Cary Kornegay of Mount Olive, friends of the couple, distributed programs.
Benjamin Alexander Jones of Chapel Hill, friend of the bride, was crucifer and Scripture reader.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mark Kevin Gourley of Goldsboro, organist; Nathan Jameson Jones of Chapel Hill, vocalist; and Paige Vickory Barwick of Mount Olive, violinist.
After a wedding trip to Nassau, Bahamas, the couple will reside in Mount Olive.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Southern Wayne High School, a 2002 and 2004 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, with a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education and a masters of science degree in speech and hearing science. She is employed as a speech and language pathologist with Clinton City Schools.
The groom graduated from Hobbton High School in 1995 and from Mount Olive College in 2000 with a bachelor of science degree in recreation and leisure studies. He is self-employed as co-owner of Best of Warsaw Co.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception and dance at Lane Tree Golf Club. Cindy Ezzell Bell, family friend of the bride, directed the reception. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Branson Vickory III, family friends of the bride, greeted guests.
Parents of the groom held a rehearsal dinner March 24 at Billie's Restaurant. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
Beverly Hoffman, Nancy Pistorius, Diane Thompson, and Kaye Winterbauer, aunts of the bride, held a bridesmaids’ luncheon March 24 at the Shield House Inn of Clinton. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.

On March 5, Teresa Minshew DeMarco, cousin of the groom, and the bridesmaids held a miscellaneous shower at First United Methodist Church.
On March 2, coworkers of the bride held a surprise bridal shower at L. C. Kerr Elementary School of Clinton.
Friends and relatives of the gorom held a pig-picking and miscellaneous shower Feb. 18 at Brownings United Methodist Church.
Friends of the groom held a bachelor party and golf outing in Myrtle Beach Feb. 4 through 6.
An engagement party was held Jan. 28 at Southern Wayne Country Club.
Diane Kelley Thompson, aunt of the bride, held a bachelorette weekend and lingerie shower Jan. 13 through 15 in Chicago, Ill.
On Dec. 3, Jennifer Parker, Kelly Parker, and Donna Ricks held a Christmas brunch at the Parker home.
On Nov. 19, Roxie Kemmerlin and Carla and Trampus Stafford, friends of the bride, held a miscellaneous couples shower at the Kemmerlin home.
