Shoop - Hochmuth
Jessica Lyn Hochmuth and Brian Shoop exchanged promises Saturday, March 11 at 4 p.m.
The Rev. Gene Martin officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Herman Park Center.
Parents of the bride are Nancy Hochmuth of Pratt, Kansas, and John and Pam Hochmuth of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Charlie and Retha Wiley of Attica, Kan., Dorothy Connor and the late Charles Connor of Clearwater, Fla., and William and Hazel Townsend of Cochranville, Pa.
The groom is the son of Debbie Shoop of Pikeville and David Shoop of Texas. He is the grandson of Gordon and Arlene Nuckols and the late Anne Smith Nuckols of Kannapolis and Darneld and Verna Shoop of Goochland, Va.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a jewel neckline enhanced with a sleeveless bodice. The fitted bodice was embellished with pearls and sequins and flowed into an A-line skirt. The back bodice closed with satin bridal buttons and cascaded into a cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a medium-length veil accented with pearls and sequins.
Bridget Behrens, friend of the couple, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Hochmuth, sister of the bride; Sarah Shoop, sister of the groom; and Courtney Horton and Stephanie Horton, friends of the bride.
Andrew McGrath of Wilmington was best man. Groomsmen were Ben Foster, brother of the groom, Rich Horton, Matthew Daniels and Vincent Bridgers.
John Stutts, friend of the couple, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Heath, Abbie, Hank and Carson Smitherman.
Paul Jason Bellamy was Scripture reader. Staci Morris read a poem.
A program of wedding music was provided by Maria Starkweather; and Bobby Boyd and Noelia Hamczyk, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple is residing in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Haviland High of Kansas. She is employed by Goldsboro Pediatrics as a nursing assistant.
The groom received a high school diploma from Wayne Community College in 2002. He is employed with Star Media Inc.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Lane Tree Golf Club. Peggy Jordan and Kim Powell greeted guests. Abbie Smitherman and Kim Powell served the wedding cake. Jim Hochmuth, uncle of the bride, gave the blessing.
On March 10, the bride’s stepmother held a bridal luncheon at Billie’s Restaurant. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.
Ashley Hochmuth, sister of the bride, held a bachelorette party March 4 at the home of Pam Hochmuth.
On Jan. 29, Abbie Smitherman and Ashley Hochmuth held a miscellaneous shower at the Smitherman home.
The groom’s mother held a rehearsal dinner at Hampton Inn.
