Kovach - McLawhon
WARSAW — Nicole Brookes McLawhon and Robert Patrick Kovach of Wendell exchanged marriage vows Oct. 8 at 4 p.m.
Hector Velez officiated at the double-ring sunken garden ceremony at the Country Squire.
Parents of the bride are Richard Bruce and Barbara Smith McLawhon of Mount Olive. She is the granddaughter of Relma “Smitty” and Peggy Garner Smith of Mount Olive and the late Mark Howard and Augusta “Gussie” Dixon McLawhon of Goldsboro.
The groom is the son of Julius Robert and Jeannine Williams Kovach of LaGrange. He is the grandson of the late Cecil and Ollie Jean Williams of Parma, Ohio, and the late Robert and Mary Kovach of Maple Heights, Ohio.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white gown with silver thread and accent beads. It had an A-line silhouette with a chapel train. A band at the hemline highlighted the beaded lace design on the skirt to complement the top bodice and cap sleeves of netting.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of crystal beads and a fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of black magic roses with hypericum berries, seed eucalyptus and clear beads.
Tonya Raynor, sister of the bride, and Marci Rollins-Smart, friend of the bride, were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Robin Kovach and Holly Kovach, sisters of the groom.
Julius Kovach was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Andy Clapp, friend of the couple; Brandon McLawhon, brother of the bride; and Ryan Fleming, nephew of the groom.
Skylar Raynor, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Kinsee and Kylee Wise, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. Nathan Fleming, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.
Donna Weeks and Amanda Bradshaw directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Lisa Fuetterer, sister of the bride. Ryan and Sean Fuetterer, nephews of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by the bride.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple is residing in Wendell.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2002 graduate of Mount Olive College with a bachelor of arts degree in music. She attends Campbell University for a master’s degree in elementary education. She is employed as a third grade teacher at Fuquay-Varina Elementary School.
The groom graduated from Kinston High School in 1994 and Mount Olive College in 1998 with a bachelor of science degree in graphic design. He is employed as a graphic designer with BellSouth Advertising.
Following the ceremony, a dance reception was held at the Country Squire Mead room.
On Oct. 1, the bride’s mother and Tonya Raynor, sister of the bride, held a bridal luncheon at Southern Exposure of Faison.
The bridesmaids held a lingerie shower and bachelorette party Sept. 24 at the home of Robin Kovach.
On Sept. 23, teachers and staff at Fuquay-Varina Elementary School held a shower.
Rosamond Smith, Gracie Smith, Tammie Smith and Amy Maggard, aunts of the bride, and Peggy Smith, grandmother of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower Aug. 1.
On July 3, Sandy Williams, aunt of the groom, held a miscellaneous shower in Cleveland, Ohio.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Steak Barn. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
