Fernandez - Tucker
WILMINGTON — Gena Lynnette Tucker and Christopher Paul Fernandez exchanged promises Sunday, Oct. 9, at 5 p.m.
The Rev. Russell Heighland officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Greystone Inn.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Tucker of Faison. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hennessee and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Tucker.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hanson of Chippewa Falls, Wisc., and Mr. and Mrs. Mario Fernandez of Miami, Fla.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless full-length princess gown of white diamond satin embellished with diamond rhinestones and a chapel train.
For her headpiece, she chose a crystal tiara with a fingertip veil of white illusion. She carried a cascading bouquet of lilies, roses, sunflowers, gardenias and stephanotis.
Erica Mele of Wilmington was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelley Walker Tucker of Rose Hill, sister-in-law of the bride, and Bobbie Jo Swinson and Hannah Lewis of Wilmington.
Mario Fernandez was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Brooks Tucker of Rose Hill, brother of the bride, and Charlie Crutchfield and Scott Mele of Wilmington.
Macy Walker, niece of the bride, was flower girl.
Carolyn Kenyon, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Sandy Tucker, aunt of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Duke Ladd, pianist, and Kelley Walker Tucker, vocalist.
After a wedding cruise to Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, and Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Wilmington.
The bride is a graduate of Cape Fear Community College. She is employed as an esthetician at Bangz Hair Salon of Wilmington.
The groom is employed with Verizon Wireless as a tech support coordinator.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Greystone Inn.
On Oct. 8, Bobbie Hennessee, Sharon Turrentine and Sandy Tucker held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the Mad Boar of Wallace.
Friends held a lingeire shower and bachelorette party Sept. 18 at the home of Bobby Jo Swinson in Wilmington.
On July 9, Scott and Erica Mele and Bobbie Jo Swinson held an engagement party and pig picking.
Faison Presbyterian Church held a miscellaneous shower at the church.
The groom’s parents held an after-rehearsal dinner at Salty’s of Wilmington.
