Kornegay - Simmons
Tracey Lynn Simmons and Kyle Aaron Kornegay pledged their promises Saturday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m.
Dr. John Bacot officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Beulaville Presbyterian Church.
John and Janet Simmons of Beulaville are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Ruby Simmons and the late John Simmons of Beulaville and Hazel Kennedy and the late Brantley Kennedy of Pink Hill.
Parents of the groom are Gerald and Connie Kornegay of Mount Olive. He is the grandson of Wilma Malpass and the late K.D. Malpass of Faison and the late Cecil and Jean Kornegay of Mount Olive and the great-grandson of the late Mary Lou Herring of Mount Olive.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white satin gown with Alencon lace, hand-sewn pearls and authentic crystals on a white tulle overlay.
For her headpiece, she chose a veil that flowed from a tiara of crystals, rhinestones and pearls. She carried a bouquet of mixed roses and gerberas of assorted colors.
Dr. Staci Garner of Greenville was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Brinson of Chinquapin, Dana Moody of Raleigh, Erica Muse of Asheville and Jaime Carr of Rose Hill, friends of the bride, and Beverly Sholar of Mount Olive,, sister of the groom.
Gerald Kornegay was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Timothy Kornegay of Mount Olive, brother of the groom; Will Simmons of Beulaville, brother of the bride; Nick Sholar of Mount Olive, brother-in-law of the groom; and Scott Rouse of Mount Olive and Brandon Rich of Salemburg, friends of the groom.
Marci Lanier of Beulaville directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Michelle Rouse of Mount Olive. Stacey Jarosewicz of Wallace distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Karla Albertson and Amanda Albertson of Beulaville, Blair Mozingo of Albertson and DeAnn Sholar of Wallace.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is residing in Mount Olive.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of East Duplin High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy. She is employed at CVS Pharmacy and as an auditor for Community Care Plan of North Carolina.
The groom graduated from East Duplin High School in 2001. He is self-employed with Kornegay Logging.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Duplin Country Club of Kenansville. Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Howard of Mount Olive and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Jackson of Greenville greeted guests. Edna Jenkins, Della Futrell and Mavis Smith assisted with the reception.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Sept. 20 at the Country Squire of Kenansville.
On Sept. 11, the groom’s family held a miscellaneous shower.
A bridal luncheon was held Aug. 20 at the Bistro of Rose Hill.
A lingerie shower was held Aug. 20.
On Aug. 20, a bachelor party was held.
Beulaville Presbyterian women held miscellaneous shower July 24.
