Lassiter - Casey
Stephanie Leigh Casey of Pikeville and Randall Braxton Lassiter of Pikeville were united in marriage Sept. 10 at 5 p.m.
The Rev. Rose C. Hicks officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Parents of the bride are Kelly Ingram Best of Pikeville and the late James David Casey of Dudley. She is the stepdaughter of Harold Earl “Hal” Best of Pikeville; the granddaughter of the late Chester Allen “Babe” and Katherine Gurley Ingram of Pikeville and the late James Frank “Pete” and Gladys Pollard Casey of Dudley; the stepgranddaughter of Ann Smith Best of Pikeville; and the stepgreat-granddaughter of Mildred Dees Smith of Goldsboro.
Margaret Lassiter Rashaw of Pikeville and Robert Braxton Lassiter of Benson are parents of the groom. He is the stepson of Donald Craig Rashaw of Pikeville and Wanda Smith Lassiter of Benson and the grandson of the late Milford Allen and Melverine Blackmon Thompson of Mount Olive and the late Ralph Braxton and Eloise Byrd Lassiter of Benson.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her stepfather, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory satin with a square neckline accented with spaghetti straps. The empire waistline was embroidered and accented with crystal beading. The A-line skirt was enhanced with an embroidered split front that cascaded into a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a gold tiara accented with flower crystals and pearls with a two-tiered veil of silk illusion with satin ribbon at the edge. She carried a kissing ball of fall flowers with yellow and orange sheer ribbon streamers and handle.
Dana Lancaster of Pikeville, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Deanna Wheeler of Princeton and Katie Stafford of New Bern, cousins of the bride.
Robert Lassiter was his son’s best man. Ushers were Brandon Lassiter and William Lassiter of Benson, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Craig Rashaw of Pikeville, stepfather of the groom, and Harold Jones Jr. of Durham, friend of the groom.
Cheryl Howell directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Ashley Thompson. Brandi Rashaw and Eric Rashaw distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Chris Salter, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Orlando and Daytona Beach, Fla., the couple is residing in Pikeville.
The bride is a 2001 honor graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and 2005 graduate of Wilson Technical Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1998 and from Wayne Community College in 2003 with an EMT-paramedic certification. He is employed as an EMT-paramedic with Duplin County Emergency Medical Service.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held. Deborah Howell and Sally Best served the wedding cake. Sandy Thompson poured punch.
On Sept. 9, a rehearsal dinner was held at Logan’s Roadhouse. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
The groom’s family held a miscellaneous shower Aug. 21 at the home of the groom’s mother.
On Aug. 8, Fremont Rescue auxiliary members held a miscellaneous shower at the rescue building.
The bride’s family and church members held a wedding shower Aug. 7 at the church.
