COLLEGE PARK, Md. — LaShona Angelic Tunishia Jones of Baltimore, Md., and Ronaldo Jerome Sellers of Baltimore pledged their wedding vows July 2 at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Juan F. Scott of Atlanta, Ga., uncle of the bride, officiated at the double-ring ceremony at the University of Maryland memorial chapel.
Parents of the bride are Alfonzo D. I and Halestine D. Jones of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Ettaphine Scott and the late Charles Scott of Florence, S.C., and Alfonzo and Nora Jones of Hemingway, S.C.
Parents of the groom are Jacqueline Vines Sellers of Clinton, Md., and Orlando Sellers Sr. of Upper Marlboro, Md. He is the grandson of Annie Mae Phillips, James Phillips and the late Ralph Vines of Newport News, Va., and the late Samuel and Rebecca Sellers of Hampton, Va.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a bodice of pearls and beading. The A-line dress cascaded into a grand cathedral-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a two-layered elbow-length veil with a crystal border attached to a tiara. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink and red roses.
Natashia Reid of Forestville, Md., cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Nicki Smith of Greenville, godsister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tory Bryant of Charlotte, Kutorah Guess of Fairfax, Va., and Charnette Sample of Temple Hills, Md., friends of the bride.
Orlando Sellers Jr. of Peoria, Ill., and Jacque Sellers of Clinton were their brother’s best men. Ushers were Orlie Reid Jr. of Forestville, and Lenwood Dozier II of Goldsboro, cousins of the bride. Groomsmen were Kevin Battle of Temple Hills and Jeffrey Tyler and Clarence Winchester of Ft. Washington, Md., friends of the groom, and Joseph Collins Jr. of Huntington, Md., cousin of the groom.
Bianca Lewis of Florence, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Eris Wiggs of White Plains, Md., cousin of the groom, was flower girl. Christian Reid of Forestville, cousin of the bride, and Christian Sellers of Peoria, nephew of the groom, were ring bearers.
Carlesia Collins of Huntington, cousin of the groom, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Brittany Anderson of Temple Hills and Chloe Collins and Chanel Collins of Huntington, cousins of the groom, and Ashley Jones, Brandy Jones and Tasha Jones of Dudley, godsisters of the bride.
Darron Lassiter of Greenville, friend of the bride, was a special helper.
A program of wedding music was provided by Alfonzo D. Jones II of Greenville, brother of the bride, and Jacque Sellers of Clinton, brother of the groom, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple is residing in Baltimore.
The bride is a 1995 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School, a 1998 graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in accounting and a 2005 graduate of Towson University with a master’s degree in human resource development. She is employed as a training coordinator with T. Rowe Price.
The groom graduated from Surrattsville High School of Maryland in 1995 and from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2002 with a degree in graphic design. He is employed as a design consultant with Home Depot, a freelance editor with Baltimore UPN-24 and a local Baltimore actor and voice-over artist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Martins Crosswinds of Greenbelt, Md.
The groom’s mother held an Hawaiian luau rehearsal dinner July 1 at her home.
On May 21, a lingerie shower was held at the home of Natashia Reid in Forestville.
