Martin - Sullivan
PRINCETON — Holly Marie Sullivan and Jason Emmitt Martin said their wedding vows July 30 at 4 p.m.
The Rev. Percy Coleman officiated at the ceremony at Progressive Presbyterian Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David E. Lewis of Pikeville and Bobby Sullivan of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Martha Worley, the late Wilbert Worley, Glenwood Sullivan and the late Jerome Sullivan of Princeton.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Martin of Princeton. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emmitt Martin and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Worley of Princeton.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her stepfather, the bride wore a white matte satin strapless gown. The bodice had re-embroidered Alencon lace appliqués. The A-line skirt flowed into a chapel train highlighted along the hemline with matching re-embroidered Alencon lace. The train had an Alencon lace insert with matching bows and buttons.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of crystals outlined with rhinestones attached to a two-tiered fingertip-cut edge veil with pearls and rhinestones along the edge of both tiers.
Tammie Sullivan, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Amanda Sullivan, sister-in-law, was the bridesmaid.
Harold Martin was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Martin, brother of the groom, and Keith Sullivan, brother of the bride.
Amber Martin, niece of the groom, was flower girl.
Holly Reece directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Hailey Hodge, cousin of the bride. Katie Almon, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Allison Coleman, pianist.
After a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Princeton.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Princeton High School and a 2002 graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in middle school math and science. She attends Campbell University’s graduate program. She is employed as a middle school math and science teacher at Princeton High School.
The groom graduated from Princeton High School in 1999 and North Carolina State University in 2001. He is employed at Case Farms as a service technician.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall.
On July 23, Alice Wadsworth, aunt of the bride, held a bridal luncheon at the Tea Room of Selma.
The maid of honor and family and friends held a bachelorette party July 16 weekend in Wrightsville Beach.
On July 9, Amanda Sullivan, sister-in-law of the bride, held a lingerie shower at her home.
Dennis and Debbie Sullivan, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Michael and Tammie Sullivan, cousins, held a cookout June 25 at their home.
On May 22, family and friends of the couple held a household/lawn and garden shower at Princeton Community Building.
Co-workers of the bride held a breakfast and shower May 13 at Princeton School.
The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at the Steak Barn.
