Cook - Duncan
BOONE — Deidre Gaye Duncan of Boone became the bride of Christopher Ryan Cook June 11 at noon.
The Rev. Joel Cook officiated at the single-ring ceremony at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Gwendolyn Safrit Duncan of Hickory and Milton Roger Duncan of Winston-Salem. She is the granddaughter of Sybil Safrit and the late Herman Gray Safrit of Mount Olive and Martha Duncan and the late Milton Lloyd Duncan of Greer, S.C.
The groom is the son of Roger and Lori Punch Cook of Conover. He is the grandson of the late Shirley Bowman Punch, Fred Punch, Marshall and Linda Bumgarner of Conover and the Rev. Joel Cook and Nell Cook of Icard.
Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless dress with beadwork along the top.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara with pearls. She carried cream roses and hydrangeas.
Amanda Pope was matron of honor. Meagan Cook was the bridesmaid.
Justin Dagenhart was best man. Ushers were Eban Bean and Brian McCall. Groomsmen were Michael Pope and Josh Killian.
Billie Cook was the junior bridesmaid.
Lauren Hudson was flower girl.
Melinda Belanger directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Erica Bean.
A program of wedding music was provided by April Dean, pianist, and Meghan Dean, pianist and vocalist.
After a wedding trip to the Siesta Keys, Fla., the couple will reside in Boone.
The bride attends Appalachian State University of Boone. She is employed at Wachovia Bank.
The groom graduated from Appalachian State University. He is employed with Wachovia Bank of Delaware.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church reception hall.
On June 9, Pamela Bean held a bridal luncheon.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Daniel Boone Inn of Boone.
