Wheeler - Howell
Deanna Elizabeth Howell became the wife of Ashley Frank Wheeler April 2 at 10 a.m.
The Rev. Rose Hicks officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Douglas and Cheryl Howell of Goldsboro and Glenda Ludlum of Deep Run are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of John and Frances Howell and Kenneth and Geraldine Moore of Goldsboro, Thelton “Deno” and Faye Ludlum of Deep Run and the late Chester “Babe” and Katherine Ingram.
Parents of the groom are Charles Wheeler and Wanda Long of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Dan and Peggy Grady of Calypso and the late Howard and Floy Lee Wheeler.
Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal white satin sleeveless gown adorned with crystal and rhinestone scrolls and flowers with a sweetheart neckline. The corseted back led into a semi-cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a comb of pearls and rhinestones that cascaded in to a two-tiered veil adorned with sequins and pearls. She carried a clutch bouquet of Virginia roses.
Cameron Hill of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Dana Lancaster and Stephanie Casey of Goldsboro, cousins of the bride, and Michelle Tillman of Goldsboro, sister of the groom.
Dan Grady was his grandson’s best man. Groomsmen were Neil Tillman, brother-in-law of the groom; Trent Howell, brother of the bride; Danny Sutton, cousin of the groom; and Ricky Williams, uncle of the bride.
Riley Lancaster, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Joshua Lancaster, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
After a wedding trip to Williamsburg, Va., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2004 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate of applied science degree in medical assisting. She is employed as a certified medical assistant with Western Wayne Medical Center.
The groom graduated from North Duplin High School in 1999 and Wilson Technical College’s fire and rescue academy in 2000. He is employed as a fireman with Goldsboro Fire Department.
Co-workers of the bride held a miscellaneous shower March 14 at Western Wayne Medical Center.
On March 6, the bride’s family and members of Ebenezer United Methodist church held a miscellaneous shower at the church.
Geraldine Moore, grandmother of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower Feb. 27 at her home.
On Feb. 12, the groom’s family held a barbecue pork and chicken supper and a miscellaneous shower at Calypso Presbyterian Church.
Dana Lancaster, cousin of the bride, held a Christmas shower Dec. 5 at her home in Pikeville.
