Daughtry - Bunn
DEEP RUN — Vickie Ann Bunn of Pink Hill and Leslie Rohn Daughtry of Pink Hill were united in holy matrimony Oct. 16 at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Bailey Elmore and the Rev. Norman Davis officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Deep Run First Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of the late Edward and Marie H. Bunn of Deep Run. She is the granddaughter of the late Preston and Estelle Harper of Deep Run and the late Loyace and Mae Bunn of Aiken, S.C..
The groom is the son of Lillian Mooring and the late James Mooring of Dudley. He is the grandson of the late Hampton and Mary Gentry of Spartanburg, S.C., and the late Ralph and Maggie Mooring of Goldsboro.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her brother, Preston Bunn, the bride wore a white A-line gown of bridal satin. The top featured a scoop neckline and short sleeves. The bodice and neckline were embellished with lace appliquéd pearls. The bottom was trimmed with lace accented with pearls. The back featured a scoop back adorned with satin-covered buttons and fell to a chapel-length train. The top of the train had a satin bow that fell into an apron back accented with matching appliqués.
Miriam Ledford, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Linda Rouse, Molly Albertson, Pat Whaley and Angie Foster, friends of the bride.
Calvin Godwin was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Tim Ledford, brother-in-law of the bride; Keith Whaley and David Tollefson, friends of the bride; and Ash Daughtry, son of the groom.
Junior bridesmaids were Kristen Bunn, Courtney Bunn, Coley Ledford, Abby Ledford, Mallory Ledford and Kayla Whaley, nieces of the bride.
Katie Whaley, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Quinton Foster, friend of the bride, was ring bearer.
Marsha Whaley, sister of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Alice Bunn, sister-in-law of the bride. Jessica and Rebecca Daughtry, daughters of the groom, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Valeria Taylor, cousin of the bride, pianist, and Michelle Gray and Joy and Jarrett Wynne, friends of the bride, vocalists.
After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, Freeport and Nassau, the couple will reside in Pink Hill.
The bride is a 1975 graduate of South Lenoir High School and a a1977 graduate of Lenoir Community College. She is employed as a supervisor with Caswell Center of Kinston.
The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1977 and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1997. He is employed as a social worker with Carolina East Home Care of Kenansville.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family held a reception in the church fellowship hall.
On Oct. 12, co-workers of the groom held a honey-do shower at Carolina East Care.
Friends held a cookout Oct. 2 at the home of Linda Rouse of Pink Hill.
On Sept. 29, co-workers of the bride held a bridal shower at Caswell Center.
Family held a floating bridal shower Sept. 19 in the church fellowship hall.
On Aug. 10, friends held a pool party at the home of Nikki Tynall.
The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner in the church fellowship hall.
