ROCKY MOUNT — Amy Dawn Radford of Greenville and Capt. Scott Ryan Yandell of Richmond Hill, Ga., exchanged wedding vows Sept. 25 at 2 p.m.
Pastor Timothy Irwin officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Englewood Baptist Church.
Jeannetta E. Radford of Goldsboro and the late Raymond S. Radford are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Amy Lissie Edgerton of Nahunta, the late Windel F. Edgerton and the late Leslie L. and Pearl H. Radford.
Carl W. and Judy H. Yandell of Spring Valley, Calif., are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Ernest W. and Myrtle C. Hardy and the late Henry D. and Edna C. Yandell.
Given in marriage and escorted by her mother in memory of her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin and Chantilly lace. The princess bodice was fashioned with a bateau neckline embellished with Chantilly lace, pearls, silver sequins and beadwork. The back was pleated in a semi-circular pattern at the waist. The A-line skirt flowed into a semi-cathedral train accented with Chantilly lace motifs, pearls, silver sequins and beadwork.
For her headpiece, she chose a Swarovski princess tiara with crystals and pearls with a two-tiered elbow-length veil of tulle with a pencil trim. She wore matching Swarovski earrings, bracelet and necklace. She carried a pave bouquet of preserved rose blossoms accented with rice flowers and basil hydrangea framed in French ivy with a lace collar and white bridal ribbon in a tussie mussie.
Melissa Radford of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rebecca Kirkland and Seslie Merritt Roughton of Rocky Mount, friends of the bride, and Jennifer Smith of Ft. Hood, Texas, friend of the groom.
Glenn Swiatek of San Mateo, Calif., was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Trey Cottrell of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Eric Frankenberger of San Diego, Calif., friends of the groom, and Kirby Potter of Greenville, friend of the bride.
Honorary bridesmaids were Jennifer Thompson of Rocky Mount, friend of the bride, and Tina Williams-Cline of Greenville, friend of the couple. Honorary groomsmen were Lee Cline of Greenville, friend of the couple, and Kevin Roughton of Rocky Mount, friend ofthe bride.
Mallory and Peyton Roughton and Chloe Thompson of Rocky Mount were flower girls. Timon Thompson of Rocky Mount was ring bearer.
Mary Frances Wells of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, directed the wedding. Kathleen French and Jennifer Thompson of Rocky Mount, friends of the bride, distributed programs.
Fleming Lomax of Westminster, Colo., led the procession and danced.
Marcel Bellamy and Donna Massey of Rocky Mount, friends of the bride, were sign language interpreters.
Michael Hricko of San Diego, brother-in-law of the groom,; Paul Kayye of Angier and Ed Rim of Uncasville, Conn., friends of the bride; and John Cannon, Dan Hiestand and Geoff Whittenburg of Enterprise, Ala., friends of the groom; were sword bearers.
A program of wedding music was provided by Carolyn French of Rocky Mount, friend of the bride, and Joy Hricko of San Diego, sister of the groom, vocalists; Jordan Reese of Forney, Texas, and Scott Thompson of Rocky Mount, friends of the bride, vocalists and guitarists; and David Kirkland of Rocky Mount, friend of the bride, pianist.
After a wedding trip to Honolulu, Hawaii, and San Diego, the couple will reside in Richmond Hill.
The bride is a graduate of Rosewood High School and East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in speech-language and auditory pathology and a master of science degree in audiology. She has been employed as an educational audiologist in various school systems with John E. Sexton and Associates.
The groom graduated from Monte Vista High School of California and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Florida with a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical science. He is serving in the Army as a helicopter pilot stationed at Hunter Army Airfield.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Officer’s Club.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Sept. 24 at Mario’s Restaurant of Rocky Mount.
On Sept. 24, Mary Wells held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at Billie’s on the Green.
Family and friends held a wedding shower Aug. 29 at the Steak Barn.
On July 24, friends held an old-fashioned pounding at Englewood Baptist Church.
