Willis - Daniels
Shelly Jean Daniels and Perry Roger Willis Jr. pledged their wedding vows July 10 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. E.C. Mattocks II officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Pine Forest United Methodist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Elizabeth Daniels. She is the granddaughter of the late Lloyd Billy Mitchell and Jean Mitchell of Goldsboro.
Parents of the groom are Perry Roger Willis and Anny A. Willis of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wan-Lee An of Taiwan and the late Walter P. and Blanche C. Willis of Stedman.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her uncle, Junior Taylor, the bride wore a strapless beaded satin A-line gown with an empire waist and a three-tiered organza skirt with a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a silver pearl and crystal tiara with a two-tiered elbow-length veil of tulle with satin corded edging. She carried a clutch bouquet of creme roses and hydrangeas.
Laura Hine of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Nicole Barbour and Krystal Epps, friends of the bride; Samantha Taylor and Amanda Mitchell, cousins of the bride; and Andrea Burnette and Angie Boswell of Goldsboro, friends of the couple.
Perry Roger Willis was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Stephen Burnette, Wayne Boswell, Tommy Evans and Bobby Hamptom, friends of the groom, and Mitchell and Josh Daniels, brothers of the bride.
Avery Burnette was flower girl. Keegan Burnette was ring bearer.
Debra Harris directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Dee Wood. Rebecca Evans distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Melanie Smith of Goldsboro, pianist, and Mr. and Mrs. Walton Aycock, vocalists.
After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of Wayne Country Day School and a 2001 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in child development and family studies. She is employed as an education coordinator with WAGES.
The groom graduated from Rosewood High School in 1991. He attended Wayne Community College. He is employed as an information technology specialist with Duke University.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Holiday Inn Express.
On July 9, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Rosewood Baptist Church.
Ann Hine of Goldsboro held a bridesmaids’ luncheon July 9.
June 12 and 13, Stephen Burnette and Wayne Boswell held a bachelor golf trip in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Laura Hine held a beach bachelorette weekend June 5 and 6.
On May 29, Stephen and Andrea Burnette and Wayne and Angie Boswell held a lingerie/tool shower.
Terri and Amanda Mitchell held a miscellaneous shower May 22.
On May 11, Rosewood Elementary held a bridal shower.
Junior and Cheryl Taylor held an engagement party May 1.
