CLAYTON – Courtney Marie Whitman became the bride of Isaac Craig Anderson Jr. June 26 at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Shelton D. Whitman officiated at the single-ring ceremony in a flower garden under a gazebo at the Wagner House.
The bride is the daughter of Larry Edward and Robin Tillman Whitman of Mount Olive. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Weldon Tillman and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest S. Whitman of Mount Olive.
Parents of the groom are Isaac Craig Anderson Sr. of Grantham and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Jacobs of Mount Olive. He is the grandson of Claire Baggot and Mr. and Mrs. Grover Hall of Mount Olive and the late Kathleen Hall.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin off-the-shoulder Basque waist gown. The bodice was embellished with a floral design of pink with Venise lace. The organza overlay skirt and chapel train were accented with matching pink floral appliqués.
The bride chose a silver and pearl headpiece with a two-tiered veil of tulle with white satin edging. She carried a clutch bouquet of pink roses and white sweetheart roses with greenery around the outside edge and stems wrapped with white sheer streamers.
Allison Sullivan, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Tara Tillman, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa Dail, sister of the groom, and Lindsay Barwick, cousin of the groom.
Isaac Craig Anderson Sr. was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Jason Whitman, brother of the bride; Jeff Dail, brother-in-law of the groom; Wade Sullivan, brother-in-law of the bride; and Eric Miller and Steve Jolley, friends of the groom.
Junior bridesmaids were Lacy Tillman and Olivia Whitman, cousins of the bride.
Honorary bridesmaids were Jennifer Kidd, friend of the bride, and Ashley Wiggins and Mellisa Whitman, cousins of the bride.
Madison Moore, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.
MaryAnn Barwick, aunt of the groom, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Rebecca Whitman, cousin of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Trampus Tolar, friends of the couple, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kelvin Gurly, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Atlantic Beach, the couple is residing in Mount Olive.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She attended Johnston Community College. She will attend Wayne Community College for a business degree. She is employed as a secretary with Lighthouse Mortgage.
The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1991. He attended Wayne Community College. He ha a commercial truck license. He is employed as a commercial truck driver with On Site Shreding Co.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Wagner House.
Lisa Dail, Kathy Jacobs, MaryAnn Barwick and Lindsay Barwick held a floating bridal shower at the Dail home.
Vickie Tillman, Ashley Wiggins, Tina Phillips and Susie Bell held a floating bridal shower at the Tillman home.
Allison Sullivan and Lisa Dail held a lingerie shower at Billie’s Restaurant.
Jean Whetsell and Vikki Tillman held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at Oliver’s Railroad Grill.
On Site Shred Co. held a shower at the office.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the Wagner House.
