Daughtry - Keene
Amy Christenberry Keene and Joseph Olive Daughtry were wed June 26 at 5 p.m.
The Rev. Thomas Hoogerland officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Pine Forest United Methodist Church.
Gareth and Fran Keene of Goldsboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late James and Dorothy Farmer of Goldsboro and the late Ernest and Nettie Keene of Tarboro.
The groom is the son of Steve and Pam Daughtry of Princeton. He is the grandson of Charles and Shelby Olive of Smithfield and the late Percy Daughtry and Louise Daughtry of Princeton.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a two-piece ivory satin A-line gown of chapel-length. The fitted bodice was embellished with pearls, crystals and sequins.
She chose a two-tiered elbow-length veil on a pearl and crystal headpiece. She carried a cascading bouquet of pink, purple and ivory roses.
Anne Haddock Keene of Greenville, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Courtney Pace Howe of Marion, S.C., friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brandi Bedford Butts of Goldsboro and Niki Nassef Miller, Heather Roberts Javoroski and Bonnie Clifton Howard of Raleigh, friends of the bride, and Nicole Farmer Carter of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride.
Steve Daughtry was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Stephen Daughtry of Durham, brother of the groom; Corey McLamb of Brogden, Sam Neumann of Smithfield and Dan Kornegay of Princeton, friends of the groom; and Matt Keene of Raleigh and Brenan Keene of Greenville, brothers of the bride.
Honorary bridesmaids were Laurie McAnaspie of Danbury, Conn., Maura Slattery of Clark, N.J., Stephanie Johnson and Lezley Maldonado of Goldsboro and Christy Frazier, Hilary Smith and Michelle Peterson of Raleigh.
Honorary groomsmen were Johnny Edgerton of Smithfield, Eric Fletcher of Princeton and Dustin Adams of Raleigh.
Hannah Keene was flower girl. Cy Daughtry was ring bearer.
Debbie Worley directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Meredith Britt and Michelle Woodall. Wesley Keene and Will Olive distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Brad Collier, pianist and organist; Cecil and Susan Woodall, vocalists; Pam Hill, violinist; Shane Woodall, guitarist; and Mike Whatley, sound technician.
After a wedding cruise to the eastern Caribbean, the couple will reside in Princeton.
The bride is a graduate of Rosewood High School, North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science degree and Meredith College with a K-6 teaching license. She is employed as a teacher with Wake County Public School System.
The groom graduated from Princeton High School and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a bachelor of arts degree. He played varsity baseball. He is employed at Bayer Corp. of Clayton.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club. Suzanne Pope, friend of the bride, was director. Stan and Arlene LaFlemme, friends of the couple, greeted guests. Beverly Lynn and Sherry Whitehurst, cousins of the bride, cut the wedding cake. Doris Mooring, friend of the couple, distributed pictures.
An engagement party was held by the couple’s parents April 2 at Becky’s Log Cabin of Smithfield.
On June 25, Mary Lou Boltinhouse, Shelia Farmer and Fran Keene held a bridal luncheon at the Royal Tea Rooms.
Brandi Butts held a bachelorette party June 12 and 13 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
On June 12, friends held a bachelor party.
Courtney Howe, Nancy Childers and Christy Frazier held a miscellaneous shower May 30 at the Childers home.
On May 23, ladies of Pine Forest United Methodist Church held a miscellaneous shower.
Friends and family of the groom held a handyman/pig picking shower May 15 at the home of Cecil and Susan Woodall.
On May 8, Nicole Carter and Anne Farmer held a miscellaneous shower at the Carter home.
Carolyn Hardison held a miscellaneous neighborhood shower May 2 at her home.
On May 1, the groom’s family held a miscellaneous shower at the home of Charles and Shelby Olive.
Staff at Willow Springs Elementary School held a miscellaneous shower April 7.
On March 21, Nikki Miller, Heather Javoroski and Bonnie Howard held a lingerie shower at the Miller home in Raleigh.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Officers’ Club.
