Mr. and Mrs. Corbitt

April Denise Williams and Charles Russell Corbitt Jr. pledged their promises Saturday, May 15 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Wayne Goff officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Fremont Holiness Church.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Andy Williams of Fremont. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brown of Fremont, Lucille Williams of Goldsboro and the late Oscar Williams Jr.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Russell Corbitt Sr. of Nahunta. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Corbitt of Nahunta, Betty Pennington of Goldsboro and the late Milford Pennington.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an empire waist satin gown with sheer overlay accented with satin ribbon.

For her headpiece, she chose an elbow-length veil of illusion trimmed with a satin edge. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white poppies.

Kimberly Williams, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Cheyenne Corbitt, sister of the groom; Courtney McDaniels, friend of the bride; and Catherine Williams, cousin of the bride.

Paul Corbitt of Greensboro was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Adam Williams, brother of the bride; Chris Gatto, friend of the groom; and David Brantley, friend of the couple.

Breanna Brown, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Blake Boykin, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Camille Costa, friend of the bride’s family, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Jo Boykin, aunt of the bride. Diane Brown, aunt of the bride, distributed programs.

Special helpers were Joyce Cotton, Jean Edmundson, Rosie Little, Melody Thomas, Gary Grady, Paul Boykin and Patricia Curtis.

A program of wedding music was provided by Randy Prosser, pianist, and Penny Jo Howell, aunt of the groom, vocalist.

The couple is residing in Snow Hill.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1997 and Wayne Community College with a certification in basic law enforcement.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Eleasea Brown, aunt of the bride, poured punch. Debbie Smith, cousin of the bride, served the wedding cake.

On May 14, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner.

The groom’s family held a luncheon and wedding shower May 2 at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

On April 24, the bride’s family held a wedding shower.

Christine Williams, aunt of the bride, held a tea April 18 at the home of the bride’s grandmother. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.
