Jennifer Gail Kearney became the wife of Jason Allen Collins of Smithfield May 29 at 5:30 p.m.

The Rev. Donald Stewart officiated at the double-ring garden ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents.

Parents of the bride are Johnny H. and Gail B. Kearney of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Landis and Luray Brantham and Warren and Marie Kearney of Goldsboro.

Parents of the groom are Larry S. and Vera V. Collins of Goldsboro and Carlos A. and Georgia L. Lavarreda. He is the grandson of Joseph and Lutabell Lawrence of Goldsboro, the late Barney and Elizabeth Collins and the late Louise Lawrence.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a satin ivory gown with lilac and celadon beaded embroidery. The A-line gown had a gathered side drape with a lace-up back.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara encrusted with crystals and beading. She carried a hand-tied clutch bouquet of lilac hydrangeas and white daisies.

Blair Keen of Clayton, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kim Collins of Cary, sister of the groom, and Jennifer Jessup of Chicago, Ill., Jody Ratcliff of Nashville, Tenn., Jennifer Davis of Raleigh and LeAnne Howell and Jenny Baker of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.

Larry Collins was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were John Kearney of Goldsboro, brother of the bride, and Eric Johnson of Los Angeles, Calif., Les Pike of Smithfield and Ben Price, Shayne Lee and David Turnage of Goldsboro, friends of the groom.

Honorary bridesmaids were Magen Pike of Smithfield and Heather Bjork of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.

Hannah Brantham of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Hayden Brantham of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, was the junior groomsman.

Beverly Keen of Goldsboro directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Mark and Amy Alphin, friends of the couple.

Kristy Brantham, cousin of the bride, and Ashley Dixon, cousin of the groom, distributed programs. Landy Brantham, uncle of the bride, and Norman Collins, uncle of the groom, were Scripture readers.

A program of wedding music was provided by Redding Jessup, violinist; Jamie Clucas, vocalist; and Les Sizemore, sound technician.

After a wedding trip to Play del Carmen and Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will reside in Smithfield.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2001 graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science degree in horticultural science. She is employed as the urban design specialist for the town of Garner.

The groom graduated from Rosewood High School in 1994 and from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1999 with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. He is employed as a service technician with BellSouth.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a dinner and dance reception at Lane Tree County Club. Vickie Howell of Goldsboro was the director. Jason Boone of Charlotte and Kristen Wall of Raleigh, friends of the couple, greeted guests. Debbie Brantham, aunt of the bride, and Hannah Dixon, aunt of the groom, cut the wedding cake. Connie Duncan, aunt of the bride, poured punch. Shannon Herring, cousin of the bride, was gift attendant. Kayce Brantham, cousin of the bride, distributed favors. Alan and Kim Brantham and Tim and Tracey Brantham, uncles and aunts of the bride, said good-byes.

On May 28, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Goldsboro Country Club. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

Friends of the couple held a bachelor/bachelorette party weekend May 22 and 23 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

On May 15, Blair Keen held a lawn and tool party at the home of Steve and Beverly Keen.

Debbie Brantham and Kim Brantham, aunts of the bride, and Lib Dudley, friend of the bride, held a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 15 at Oliver’s.

On April 24, Hannah Dixon, Nona Wilson and Martie Fitzhugh, aunts of the groom; Teresa Reeves, Ashley Dixon and Tracey Bogue, cousins of the groom; and Kim Collins, sister of the groom, held a bridal shower and brunch at Pine Forest United Methodist Church.

Vera Collins, stepmother of the groom, and Jeanette Waters, stepsister of the groom, held a pamper-the-bride shower April 10 at the Collins home.

On April 3, Judy Taylor, Margaret Vail, Sara Sewell and Nancy Smith, fiends of the bride; Tracey Brantham and Connie Duncan, aunts of the bride; and Edith Dudley, cousin of the bride, held a miscellaneous bridal shower at First Presbyterian Church.

Westwood women held a miscellaneous shower March 28 at Westwood United Methodist Church.

On Sept. 6, family and friends of the couple held an engagement party at the home of the bride’s parents.
