FAISON — Julie Elizabeth Hall of Mount Olive and Jason Adam Holliday were united in holy matrimony Feb. 14 at 4 p.m.
The Rev. Elizabeth Deibert and Mon. John Williams officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Faison Presbyterian Church.
The bride is the daughter of Sprunt and Gloria Hall of Warsaw. She is the granddaughter of the late Sprunt Hall Sr., the late Lucy Hall, Irene Parks of Seen Springs and the late Wesley Parks.
The groom is the son of Bill and Brenda Holliday of Mount Olive. He is the grandson of Mary Ann Holliday of Cary, the late W.R. “Bob” Holliday, Adrian Jones of Mount Olive and the late Fannie Hill Jones.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of satin and Alencon lace. The fitted bodice was embellished with pearls and sequins. The short sleeves were enhanced with beaded lace cutouts. The V-neckline was outlined in pearls. The Basque waist was encircled in beaded lace. The full-length skirt and chapel-length train were flanked with garlands of beaded lace and beaded lace motifs and bordered in scalloped beaded Alencon lace.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of pearls, rhinestones and crystals attached to double layers of illusion with a rolled edge that fell to elbow-length. She carried a clutch-style bouquet of red roses accented with greenery.
Amanda Lee of Faison, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Morgan Elizabeth Parks of Seven Springs, cousin of the bride, was the bridesmaid.
Bill Holliday was his son’s best man. Ushers were Kit Arthur of Mount Olive, friend of the groom, and Eugene Jones of Mount Olive and Tim Holliday of Thomasville, uncles of the groom.
Sarah and Amanda Craig of Faison, friends of the bride, were flower girls. Dillon Holliday of Thomasville, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.
A program of wedding music was provided by Anne Taylor of Faison, pianist, and Jimmy Martin of Goldsboro, vocalist.
Jill Parks, aunt of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Ashley Jones, cousin of the groom, and Erin Smith, friend of the bride.
Jennifer Jones, cousin of the groom, and Amanda Peters, cousin of the bride, distributed programs. Special helpers were Al and Peggy Percy and Nelson Parks.
After a wedding trip to Snowshoe Mountain, W. Va., the couple is residing in Mount Olive.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of North Duplin High School. She attends Sampson Community College. She is employed as a part-time emergency medical technician with Duplin County EMS.
The groom graduated from North Duplin High School in 2000 and Lenoir Community College in 2002 with a BLET certification. He attended Mount Olive College. He is employed as a police officer with Mount Olive Police Department.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Southern Wayne Country Club. Jimmy and Betty Sauls greeted guests. Anne Peters and Beverly Holliday served the wedding cake.
On Feb. 11, Ashley and Jennifer Jones held a lingerie shower at the home of Cindy Jones of Mount Olive.
A bridal shower was held Feb. 8 at Faison Church fellowship hall.
On Feb. 1, Darlene James, Lynn and Betty Sauls Madison and Stephanie Sauls and Juanita Williams held a lawn and garden shower at Bowden’s Presbyterian Church.
Tony and Kathy Jacobs, Ed and Jan Jones, Mary Jo Lambert, Diane Lewis, Davis Sloan and Ronnie and Itsy Sloan held a dinner party Jan. 31 at Country Squire Restaurant.
On Jan. 24, Peggy Parks and Ruby Sutton held a Pampered Chef party.
Sybil Carter, Sharon Dixon and Gloria Morgan held a bridal luncheon Jan. 24 at Southern Belle Restaurant.
On Jan. 18, Mary Anne Holliday, Beverly Holliday, Jean Holliday, Cindy Jones and Teresa Tsuji held a miscellaneous shower.
Morgan and Skyler Parks held a trim-a-tree shower Dec. 4 at the home of Nelson and Jill Parks.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Faison Church fellowship hall.
