Boys' soccer: Wayne Country Day 9, Freedom Christian 0 -- Max Young torched the Patriots' defense for a season-high five goals on Friday afternoon. Berkley Woodard added two goals, while Thomas Gurley and Josiah Benton provided one goal apiece. Gurley passed out a season-high five assists. Andrew Crawford doled out a pair of assists. Benton and Jack Qien each had one assist. The Chargers (6-1-0 overall) oppose Dash United at the Bert Gillette Complex in Wilson on Tuesday.
Volleyball: Faith Christian d. Hilltop Christian 25-22, 26-24 -- Freshman Emma Hines served five aces for the Conquerors. Anna Hines had five digs, who earned their second straight win after a road victory over TEACH on Thursday. Elizabeth Sasser (10 digs, three aces), Karsen Spence (eight digs, one ace) and Kayla Persons (three digs, six assists) also contributed to the win.
