Jala Holloman scored 20 points to lead Wayne Country Day School past rival Wayne Christian, 73-42, in girls' varsity basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Clifford Gymnasium.
The victory moved WCDS to 11-7 overall.
After shaking off a sluggish first quarter, the diminutive Holloman guided the Chargers through a balanced remainder, scoring the basketball with precision and setting the table for her mates with relative ease.
At the break, WCDS held a 35-18 advantage.
Freshman Lexi Jeffreys picked up Holloman's pace in the second half, scoring eight of her 17 points and controlling the glass with frontcourt mate Lillian Freeman.
Together, the two grabbed a staggering 26 caroms -- 13 apiece.
Freeman also chipped in 14 points for the Chargers, whose only blemish on the afternoon was an uneven performance from the charity stripe.
For the game, WCDS shot just 29 percent (7 of 24).
Wayne Christian was led by junior point guard Kelsey Norris, who netted 14 points. Freshman Emma Harbuck scored nine points and snatched 13 rebounds.
Sharpshooting guard Adayah Ginn, who scored 19 points on Thursday versus Greenville Christian, was held to just seven points.
Wayne Christian now stands 6-6 overall on the season.
